| Brownish red flat with brown specks on belly Otis has 4 flat brownish red spots on his lower belly that will not wash off. I'm 98 percent sure he doesn't have any flea's. If I pull on the specks they will come out, but the spots won't wipe off. He is licking and chewing at them. He does have allergies and is on hydroxyzine 10mg twice daily. Any thoughts?

| I don't think it's ticks, they look more like 'smears'. Like you have some brownish stuff on your finger and you smeared in on his belly. But about the size of an eraser head.

| Could you take a picture? That might help in figuring out what it could be. |

| k, sending the pic to diggy cause i can't find the cord to upload from my cell phone. She will post it for me. It's gonna be pretty hard to see, and you can only see one of them, the others are lower in the black hair.

| I don't think so, they just appeared today. I've been researching and it may be yeast, or bacterial.

| brownish red flat with brown specks on belly My Bayley has the same spots that you described. At first I thought they were ticks but they weren't. They also didn't wash off. I just assumed they were beauty marks. He has had them for a while but now seems to be getting more in the weiner area. They don't bother him. |

| dark spots I had a male puppy that had those spots in that same area that I took to the vet. The spots were from his pee. He was getting the hair in that area wet when he peed, then lying on a blanket and it was kinda burning his skin. I made sure that he always had a clean dry blanket, rinsed the area off 2 or 3 times a day, and they went away after about a week. You might try this to see if that is it. I put vaseline on the skin after I washed it to protect it. |
