When she emailed, the lady said she had sold the puppy to an American missionary. She gave the girl I work with his email address. Yes I had this happen to me where they said the puppies were free and I had to pay a shipping cost and other stuff like that.

I wasn't sure about it and posted info on my car forum and someone told me to look out because there were scams around like that. Sure enough I called the internet police and reported it. Not sure how far it got. But they looked into my email acct to find the domain and such info.

Normally they have bad grammar and can't spell. Always inquire before sending $$ over the net. They also didn't have large photos to email me of the pups so this put up a flag for me!!

A friend of mine called me the other day and told me she was on her way to get a money order because she found "FREE"3 month old English Bulldog girl,,,she just had to pay for shipping! I told her nothing is free and it must be a scam,finally after going to her house and e-mailing him and asking question,he said,"this is not a scam and if you dont believe me,you dont need this beautiful boy". In previous e-mails it was a darling little girl!!

This happened to me, too!
I was emailing a guy back & forth regarding a Yorkie puppy up for adoption for only $300....it got really close to me almost going along with it....I got very suspicious when he asked me to Western Union the money to him in Cameroon....I was like, no way is this for real. I googled his zip code & the first thing that came up was "Puppy Scam".....I never replied back & neither did he....I guess he thought I was asking too many questions like, "Why am I sending money to Cameroon, Africa if you say you live in California??? Just in case any one else comes across him, his email is divepride2008@gmail.com

We searched & searched & searched before we found our Rocky. He ended up costing us more than $350, but he was sooooo worth him! I love that little boy with all my heart! I'm so glad I went to a breeder directly. She was a wonderful lady & if anyone is interested, I still keep in touch with her...she still has 2 of Rocky's siblings available. She took superb care of Rocky & loves her babies so much. They are all treated exceptionally wonderful. If you are looking to adopt, please let me know.

I'm not a yorkie owner (yet) I hope to be one.

I was looking online, and emailed a few people. I got a email back from some lady named Julius Einstein, whos daughter "died coming back from piano lessons". I chatted with her, and we arranged something, but I did not pay. A few hours later everyone else replied.

Same story.

Different names.

-headdesk- I was excited too Oh well. Good things are worth waiting for I suppouse.

I recently e-mail a person who had an add in my local newspaper for a yorkie female for $400.00. I got the same thing that he was in South Africa and the yourkie would have to be shipped. Previously I had read a scam alert on Yorkietalk.com and new it was a scam.

happened to me too!! they said in Cameroon and I emailed back saying "where is Cameroon?" and never got a reply. they told me the puppies were already potty trained & everything. and were only $150. i never paid them or anything thank God.

I almost fell for this while looking for my Yorkie!

The ad said she was in Raleigh (at the time I lived in Greensboro and was willing to make the short drive). When she gave me a number to call, I e-mailed asking why it had a "+" in front of it and she said it was to Camroon! I was like uhhhh no.

And I encountered three more like that!

Thankfully I found a breeder and got my Diva.
