This reminds me of something that happened to me & Mollie at our local dog park a few weeks back. My son & I were walking her down to the dark park, when a man gets closer to us with what looks like a Shiba Inu and I rein Mollie in a little because she feels that everyone including dogs should stop what they are doing and pay attention to her and you never know how someones dog is going to react so I'm always on my toes. The gentlemen says that he won't bite that he is just hyper as well. When we get closer he pulls his dog further away and says oh you have one of those kinds of dogs. He precedes to tell me that there are 2 in his neighborhood I don't think anything else about it because we are going in opposite directions. They had been working on the side for the big dogs so instead of having the run open for them all the dogs where in with the little ones. There was probably 30+ dogs there and we go in and let Mollie off her leash and she starts playing with the other dogs and going up to the owners and wanting them to pet her. Next thing I know this man has brought his dog in and turned him lose and he starts toward Mollie now I was in the middle of about 5 people and his dog comes over and jumps her everybody that was around me grabs for the dog. The whole time his dog was coming toward Mollie he was saying he won't bite. Needless to say I got very ugly with the man I asked him why when he knew that his dog for some reason had an issue with Yorkies he brought him in and let him go. Everyone gave him the evil eye and he put his dog back on the leash and left. Since then whenever I take Mollie there they do have everything fixed now. She is not the same she won't play and want's to stay by my side or wants me to hold her. I hope she comes out of this soon because I love going there. | |

| I think some people are just plain stupid. A dog might be a thing to do at the time and if they change their minds out they go. To bad we couldn't dispose of those kind of people like they like to dispose of their pets. |

| This distrubs me on so many levels...First, why do they have the dog? I hate people who get animals for no apparent reason and then do not love them. Second, what kind of freaky sadistic person would just shoot any living thing because they did not like it...I truly believe that this person must be sick to just laugh about killing any animal so coldly. UGGHHH!!! I hate people like this!

| Probably the main reason people like that get dogs when they don't even like them is for watch dogs or to keep strangers at bay.

So true! I was relieved to hear that they seem to accept this dog, because he is so good, bless his heart. I'm just glad we won't be around much longer to see the day when they decide that he just isn't worth keeping anymore. He does seem to be well treated though. He's got toy's to play with and seems pretty good natured.

They all look like they are having so much fun! Good idea about a realty company that would specialize in finding good "yorkie" neighbors! Too bad you live all the way down in Tx. Iowa doesn't sound like much, but it's home and I'll alway's live here!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I agree completely! A lady I work with got a weenie dog...a stray that came up to our work place. She took Buster home and I thought it would be a good home for him. She has 2 kids, ages 4 & 2. Those kids terrorize that poor dog. Pull his ears, tail...trying to stretch hiim out more. Well the other day, she made the comment that she's getting rid of him. She doesn't like him anymore. He had stopped eating a couple of days and she decided that she was going to take his collar off and let him out the front door. It was then that she realized that the reason he stopped eating was because his collar was too tight. IMAGINE THAT! Not being able to eat and probably having a hard time breathing. Well, she let him out the front door and her husband found him down the street and brought him back home. I've asked her to give him to me because she obviously doesn't give a damn about him and I would find a suitable home for him without children since he's been terrorized since she got him this past spring.

| I dont even know what I would have said if I were you. I think I'd be shocked. I wouldn't trust your little one around them - if they aren't dog people, you never know if they would hurt your baby if she did something that they didn't like. Ugh, people like that shouldn't be allowed to own any thing.

Since the area for the bigger dogs was not available, those owner's really should have just came back another day, instead of taking the chance of something like that happening.

| Did you ask her why the h*ll she owned a dog then? People like that scare me. What would move a person to own a dog if they weren't 'dog people'? I hope they treat him good.

| That reminds me of when my neighbor, who I have been friends with for 16 years, came by one night. I said, "See my new baby? His name is Bo". She just looked at him and said "Oh", so, feeling a bit awkward since she didn't pet him or really look at him, I said, "you guys have had Whiskers (a beautiful Westie) for about 10 years now haven't you?" And she said, "*heavy sigh* Yes, and every morning when I let her out I wish she'd never come back!!" I was appalled!!! I said, "Oh no, no! Whiskers is so pretty and she's been a good dog!" Well, she backed down after that. Our friendship has been strained since then. Hey, Love me, love my dog! Don't love my dog? Then don't come around! Sorry, but that's how I feel!

| I know what you all mean, love me, love my dogs. I had a neighbor that would come over with her daughter, that is a brat and my furbabies would get so excited to see her and she would, say put them out they are jumping on me, I would tell her no, this is there house and they will leave you alone if you just pet them. They don't come around that much anymore, which I think my furbabies are glad of. Why would you go to someones house with 4 furbabies if you didn't like dogs. About your puppy sticking it's head through the fence, I got a roll of chick wire at Home Depot and put it around my fence with electrical ties. Polly would go through the hole in the fence.

| It's nice to be able to share stories on here, I knew you'd all feel the same way. I really think the gal who took in the stray dachshund should be ashamed of herself and I hope she gives the dog to you to find a good home for. That's another thing that irk's me: people who don't raise their children to treat animal's properly, that's shameful!

| You know there are times people say they hate their dog just to say it. My mom is one of those people. When we are there she is always saying she doesn't know why my dad had to go out and buy a chihuahua. She says she hates dogs. But I have always caught her talking and cuddling with Solo when I arrive without notice. Not long ago Solo got lost and right then and there I found out how much my mom loves the dog she says she hates lol. People are just weird my mom being one of those... Smiles, Myra |
