| Very nervous!!!!!HELP ME PLEASE!!!! I have 4 yorkies in total and I am having 2 of them Chloe and Coqui spayed and neutered on this monday 9/15. I am very nervous for Coqui he is what the vet calls monorchid(only 1 testicle descended)my vet told me that its very dangerous to leave him be, he will be in danger for testicluar cancer. So I made the decision to have him fixed out of fear that something will happen to him, just to think about it I cant breath . But, he is so small I am soooo scared to put him down under he is only 2lbs and 4 oz. Has anyone had there baby this small fixed???if so please let me know I am so scared~cathy He is 7 months old

| If it was me, I'd wait till he was a little older and full grown. he might gain a little more weight. He's not going to get cancer at this young age. Wait till he's a year old. If you have your girl spayed, he won't be getting her pregnant. Just my opinion...i'm sure more experienced people will have more to say. it's just what I would do if I were in your shoes. Good luck and God bless! deb |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Is there a specific reason for doing it right now? I agree with Deb. Coqui seems much to small to be having surgery. He looks pretty young in your avatar picture. I would wait til he is older and a little bigger before having him neutered. Keeping in mind that even a little weight gain is ALOT for these small dogs. Let him get a little bigger before putting him through that. JMO The same would apply to Chloe; how much does she weigh? Nevermind that one, I just looked at the pics in your album and Chloe seems to look big enough; she should be fine.

| Good plan to wait a few months. and be sure to pay the extra money to have a complete blood panel done prior to the surgery. It is not a 100% guarantee that there would be no complications, but it is your best bet for looking for potentiel problems prior to beeing put under anesthetic

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Oh good, I'm really glad everything went well. I'm sure you are very relieved to have all of that behind you now! I had one that had 3 retained puppy teeth pulled today and even something as seemingly minor as that is still a little nerve-racking for us yorkie mommies. She did fine and was back to her normal self as soon as we got home.
