| It's not exactly short order. I have talked to this group and my other groups about it before but the one time before this that Satin Balls was mentioned, I reacted the same, I am afraid of all that fat in them. I have been told that hambuger fat directly affects the liver, also that it tends to accumulate around the liver. This is scary to me. My dogs throw tinies and quite often I have to treat for low blood sugar, the last thing I want is for some of my dogs to come down with pancreatitis and have to treat them too. My vet says my dogs are a little underweight but he's not worried about it. Can you feel the hip bones above your dogs tail? Are they clearly defined? My dogs bones are. To me this is too thin. The one girl I am talking about above, has NO padding over her spine between those hip bones. Most of the others have very little. I do have one or two who do have what I consider the right amount of padding there and I would not call them overweight at all. In my opinion, my dogs can not be healthy if they are underweight enough to worry me. And since there is no way everyone here on the board can see or feel my dogs and reassure me that they are fine, then I must go with my own feelings. Quite often I am up all night, they have no set bedtime. They are up and down all day and night. I wouldn't know when the best time to give them a bedtime treat. Sylvia Quote:

| Sorry everyone, I didn't see that the EVO was Innova EVO. I just wanted to clear up that confusion and let you all know I caught it. Sylvia |

On a scale of 1-10 (5 being perfect), Ellie's vet put her at a 2 or 3. ![]() The recipe below is nothing special. It is what Ellie eats but because it is her only source of food, vitamins and minerals have to be added. If you feed more than about 15-20% of this or anything else that isn't complete and balanced, you probably need to supplement which isn't fun... 1 oz. meat (I usually use boneless skinless chicken breat baked or boiled) 88 grams carb (rice, noodles, sweet potato, peas) 60 grams mixed veggies (choose from carrot, green beans, squash, celery, bell peppers) 1 tsp. oil (canola or olive) Cook meat, carb and veggie. Stir in oil and refrigerator, freeze or serve. This wasn't enough for Ellie, so I added 50% more per day. This would be way too much for your dogs since they are already getting dog food... You can really just find any recipe online that you like the looks of because it isn't the recipe at all that put weight on Ellie. It is that she is quite happy to eat people food...

| I posted a recipe for satin balls in the recipe & treat section. I add vitamin supplements, my dogs (all small) love them. I split each ball into 6 or 7 sections which each then is only about 1/4 tsp or so. Can see a big difference is their skin and coats. We love it! JMO |
