I know it is scary when they are so skinny.
On a scale of 1-10 (5 being perfect), Ellie's vet put her at a 2 or 3.
The recipe below is nothing special.
It is what Ellie eats but because it is her only source of food, vitamins and minerals have to be added. If you feed more than about 15-20% of this or anything else that isn't complete and balanced, you probably need to supplement which isn't fun...
1 oz. meat (I usually use boneless skinless chicken breat baked or boiled)
88 grams carb (rice, noodles, sweet potato, peas)
60 grams mixed veggies (choose from carrot, green beans, squash, celery, bell peppers)
1 tsp. oil (canola or olive)
Cook meat, carb and veggie.
Stir in oil and refrigerator, freeze or serve.
This wasn't enough for Ellie, so I added 50% more per day.
This would be way too much for your dogs since they are already getting dog food...
You can really just find any recipe online that you like the looks of because it isn't the recipe at all that put weight on Ellie. It is that she is quite happy to eat people food...
