| question about chaging of hair color. . . when does this usually happen? cali's almost 8 mths & she's gotten a little silver on top of her head, but that's it. i thought it'll still change. however a few people @ our meet up mentioned that she should already have changed colors & she'll probably be this color the rest of her life. no complaints here. . . i love that she still looks sooo puppy! just curious if i'm being told correct information. thanks a lot! |

| You can search the forum. I'm sure I remember reading things posted about this. I believe I read that the coat has usually changed by 1 year. My friends Yorkie didn't change until 10 months. Tink is a mix - Yorkiepoo - and her color didn't start changing until she was about 14 months. Her silver continued to come in until very recently and she just turned 2. So I think 1 yr is probably close for pure Yorkies. |

| Well Bentley was almost completely black when I got him. I think it took about two years for him to change and now he's really light. I wouldn't know how to describe his coloring but he's really light. Like he's got a blonde face and top of the head is blonde but he's got some silver on his back. I've got his pics posted so you can take a lookie loo

| I posted something last night about color change. It is amazing. My Roxy broke silver at 18 weeks. She was all silver for awhile. She is now over 1 year and is turning blond. It is amazing to watch them turn colors. I didnt think it would ever happen with her. From what I have read it happens in the first 2 years.

| The changes are sometimes not noticeable. You have to look at the pictures to notice the changes. For example, trixie was almost all black when I got her, very little tan, as you can see in one of my picture in my album. Now, her whole face is gold, and the back of the ears are gold. The gold is so dark, it looks reddish against the sun. Yet, I am pretty sure that will also change, she is five months 1/2

YT 1000 Club Member | It all depends on the lines they are from and the Genes they got from their parents and ancestors. Maggie my oldest went from Black and gold as a pup to a blond and medium silver at 1year and now at 2 years she is a dark grey with silver and a reddish gold. My boys are just a unique mixture of their parents. But Friday is dark. But her parents didn't get their correct colors until almost 2 yrs. her ancestors are all lighter than she is and her littermates will all be light because they started breaking color early. it's a wait and see game with these guys.

| Mocha has gotten more and more silver on her gold head, she's now 6 months old. I was hoping the all black/gold wouldn't go away as I love that color combination so much, but what to do. I love her all the same |
