| I am so sorry you have had bad luck with the groomers. Even though Lucky got the "buzz" he is adorable, AND his hair will be grown out before you know it. Why not start grooming him yourself. With a bit of trial and error and practice you will be able to keep his hair exactly like you want it. If he is afraid of being groomed I would wonder what has been going on at the groomers - and if you do the grooming yourself, you won't have any questions. |

| Ahhhh he looks adorable! I can feel your pain and I know you don't want to hear this but~~~it will grow back but it will The only thing I can suggest is to work with him between grooming so he is really use to being handled. IMO sedation would not be an option, I would find a new groomer. Pebbles was hand scissored for quite a while until she was comfortable with the groomer. I paid a little more but it was worth it in the end. She is now a star at the groomers but it took a lot of work on both the part of the groomer and at home as well. My hubby loved when Pebbles was shaved, but he was in the military

| I think he is adorable with his shorter hair. I am a groomer, and I have several customers who keep their yorkies hair that short. They love it! They get to wear cute clothes this way without worrying about mats!!! You should try doing it yourself, but keep in mind that many dogs are more nervous with their owner doing it. Alot of customers can't even watch their dog being groomed because it makes the dogs too nervous/hyper/or excited. I do not sedate dogs in my shop, however I do groom a couple of persian cats and 1 shih-tzu whose owners do medicate them before they come. I'm not sure what they give them, we call it a doggie valium (or kittie valium). It is something that the vet gives them. They are still awake and alert....just relaxed. The shih tzu, they drop off in the morning and then pick up at lunch time. I alway do his groom as soon as he gets there in the morning and then put him in a crate or exercise pen in the bathroom so that he isn't nervous around the other dogs and strange noises. I can tell by the time they pick him up his medicine is wearing off, because he starts pacing and getting nervous.

| We used to have a camp in Greenbrier County. It was at Neola. I think that is pretty close to you. Right below Antony Creek Correctional Center. I have been to Monroe County many times when we were camping. I am about 4 to 5 hours away from where you live.

Thank you so much for the advice. I really appreciate it. I like the body cut but not the legs at all. I am sure it will grow out pretty fast. It will just take me some time to get used to it.

| No Longer a Member | Aww he looks cute anyway. I started Nicholas out with the really small clippers(Wahl Pocket Pro) that are battery powered just doing his ears and basically just letting him hear them run and not touching him. They dont make alot of noise. Gradually trimming ears ,some on the belly and I am Happy to say now he does not mind them at all he will just sit there and let you do whatever you have to do. These little clippers are the best for just small trims on the belly, ears, legs, butt etc. |

| Sorry you are so upset with Lucky's groomer, I sure don't blame you. I get Lulu's hair cut in a puppy cut similary to how your Lucky looks now and she really likes it and looks cute. It takes about 6 weeks to grow out to look like Lucky did before his grooming. I had trouble finding a groomer in my area because Lulu is my first dog and I just wasn't familiar with grooming. I ended up asking Lulu's breeder for his recommendation and even though he is about an 1 hour from us, he asked some of his contacts and found me Lulu's groomer. Maybe your breeder could help you find a better groomer? Just a thought.
