| About cough, " broken" ears and something scary ... Hello group, Pix is doing great in her 15th week of life. However, today was a busy day for her and ourselves ! She just finished her second 7 day course of antibiotics and is still coughing a bit, so I have been postponing her first bath... Oh well, we were taking her out for pee time, and she got so excited to be out that she ran faster than usual and FELL IN THE POOL !!! Well, nothing happened, and to be honest, I felt instantly relieved to see my baby can swim. She swam for a few seconds before my daughter reached her in the water without me having to jump in. Sooo, since she was already soaking wet, why not give her the first and so much needed bath? She loved it, especially the hairdrier !! She smells sooo good now!! And the other thing is about her ears. I read somewhere here about yorkies having the ears half way bent forward, and that's what happened to Pix last week. I don't know if this is common, but yesterday the ears went straight again for the day, then today the OTHER ear is bending forward !!! Funny. It doesn't bother me, I love it the way it is, or straight up, I don't mind. Pix loves to sleep on my shoes, so here's a 2 days ago nap ( note the ear!). Cheers from Florida (hopefully escaping hurricane Ike's path, and praying for the people in Cuba) http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4...8090205ak1.jpg |

| oh could she be any cuter? and in that shoe! The ears up and down are VERY common.. especially around 6 months when she starts teething. Layla also fell in the pool when she was very young... i too was ecstatic to see she could swim |

| What a sweet baby! It sure is hard to keep up with those legs when your still growing into them!! They are clumsy sometimes! Glad she can swim. I'm with Marci, ears will go up and down lots during teething!

| She is a darling little baby ! Yes, the ears will go up then down, and sometimes, one at A time ! Glad she can swim too . However, I'd be extra careful supervising her all the time around the pool. in case she can't make it out by herself. I am also wondering if the lingering cough could be from Kennel cough.

| Both of mine slept with their heads in my shoes just like that. My husband used to say they weren't sleeping, they were passed out cause they (my shoes) smelled so bad.

| i forgot to mention... kennel cough can hang on for a long time.. the meds are just to keep it from becoming pneumonia. Layla's lasted about a month... especially at night... i used a hot air humidifier by her crate and it really helped. |

| She's adorable My two girls fell in the pool a time or two when they were little, fortunately they're never left alone so it was okay. For my peace of mind, we bought a Skamper Ramp, they sell them through the Humane Society's website. It's a plastic ramp for the pool, in case they (or a wild animal) falls into the pool, they can get themselves out. Sometimes they panic and can't find the steps, but this ramp is highly visible to them, and we trained them to always exit the pool from there, so they know where it is. It was worth it just to never have to fish another dead racoon from the pool! Anyway, I hope the cough goes away soon!

| What a doll baby. Mine fell in the pool once each. It only takes once, then they know. I put mine in the pool frequently and I'm teaching them where the steps are. Swimming is great exercise for them, they just need to be taught how to get out!

| Aww isn't that the cutest thing!!! Ours did that when she was little too. But really only my husband's shoes.... the old ones he wears in the yard. These were also the only shoes that she chewed on as well. Lucky me! Thanks for bringing back some awful sweet memories! Cheryl & Mandy

| She is very cute, that same thing happened to Lily’s ears and I shaved the tips of her ears and they stood rate up. The hair can weigh them down when they are young.

| I personally like floppy ears. I picked Bella because she had floppy ears and they made her different.
