| Sometimes I think we micromanage our yorkies too much. We dont want them to bark but that is their way of communicating. We want them to have invisible poo. We feed them certain foods so their poo smells less bad and on and on. All I know is my two hoodlums could be worse so Im thankful

| Oliver and Brooklyn are on the quiet side as far as barking goes. Some barking is normal though. As far as separation anxiety goes......its me with the problem. Why do they have to look at you with those beautiful eyes and faces saying "Mommy take me with you"!!??

| Thank you all so much for telling me about your yorkies!! I feel a lot better after reading your posts. I'll just have to try and keep myself for creating problems with my own worry. It's so nice to have Yorkie Talk to help me with my anxiety! Thanks again. |

so just keep in mind that they are all different. If what you want is a well mannered dog, socialization is the key. Tatum was taken to the ball field all the time as a pup which I think played a big part in her friendliness and sweetness. That and the environment she's in at home. If she had grown up around my rambunctious nephews, it might be a different story. Just work on training issues and don't be afraid to leave your baby at times. Being uptight about that issue will only create more issues with the pup. Good luck!

I was so afraid to leave my puppy in the beginning too. It is better, but I still find myself watching the clock sometimes to be sure I am not gone too long. I have a large play area gated off for her with a potty pad and her favorite toys when I have to be gone for a couple of hours. I think you see a lot of "problem puppy" posts because people that are having problems with heath/food/training issues post more often to get suggestions. My Sass is 14 months old is a very good puppy. She is 100 % potty trained. will use potty pads or go outside and never has any accidents. Sleeps through the night without crying. Plays well with other dogs and neighborhood children. When I first got her she was 8 weeks old and I started training her immediately. She would bark at the dogs outside and I would tell her shhh and give her a treat when she was quiet. Now we can take long walks every day or just go out to play in our yard and she just looks at other dogs and doesn't make a sound. She does still bark when she is in the house and someone comes to the door or is walking down the sidewalk, but that is normal doggie behavior and she is alerting me someone is around. She makes me smile so many times throughout the day and gives the best puppy kisses.

| Generally my Jamie is very quiet and well adjusted. He LOVES everyone. However recently we are going through a period of rebellion... Of course that only happens when I get lazy and let him think he runs the show. So basically my fault but we are about to get that back in line because my roommate/best friend is on the hunt for a little yorkie boy and then I am going to be looking for Jamie a little sister next year so we want to make sure that he doesn't teach the new puppies bad habits.
