Pita is 13 weeks old and so far she only barks occasionally while playing. I have successfully left her in her ex-pen for a few hours a couple times. (Which I worried about as well and other people made me feel better when I posted about it.) I'm afraid to leave her for too long, so I turned down a trip to the zoo with my sisters family. I can't relax when I go anywhere more than 3 hours. Does this get any better? Am I over worrying? Anyway I'm hoping that once again YT's will help me feel better. Please tell me about your well adjusted, quiet yorkies and about what age you were able to leave them home without panicking!

I was so afraid to leave my puppy in the beginning too. It is better, but I still find myself watching the clock sometimes to be sure I am not gone too long.
I have a large play area gated off for her with a potty pad and her favorite toys when I have to be gone for a couple of hours.

I think you see a lot of "problem puppy" posts because people that are having problems with heath/food/training issues post more often to get suggestions.

My Sass is 14 months old is a very good puppy. She is 100 % potty trained. will use potty pads or go outside and never has any accidents. Sleeps through the night without crying. Plays well with other dogs and neighborhood children.

When I first got her she was 8 weeks old and I started training her immediately. She would bark at the dogs outside and I would tell her shhh and give her a treat when she was quiet. Now we can take long walks every day or just go out to play in our yard and she just looks at other dogs and doesn't make a sound.

She does still bark when she is in the house and someone comes to the door or is walking down the sidewalk, but that is normal doggie behavior and she is alerting me someone is around.

She makes me smile so many times throughout the day and gives the best puppy kisses.
