Dog Park In New York I have heard that there are a few dog parks around the city. I even once heard there is one in the village somewhere for small dogs. Are there any that you NY owners have seen or that you know about and would recommend? Thanks.

There's a small dog run in Tompkins Square park in the East Village and there's another one in Carl Schurz park which is right on the East River on the upper east side. I forget exactly what street but it's in the 80's or nineties.

I think you guys mean the 79th Street Boat Baisn. It's literally under the HH Parkway. I went there a few weeks ago. I had no idea it was a dog friendly restaurant until I got there. The even have water bowls all over the place! They serve very basic Grill stuff like burgers and hot dogs. I would definitely like to go back soon with Brad. Maybe a meet-up there would be a great idea!

Last week I was at a dog park directly across the street from Chelsea Piers. It was nice, we went for a walk on the chelsea pier then crossed the street to the dog park. Desi had a good time and so did I.

Have you tried going to Phelham Bay Park? If I remember correctly, people often took their dogs there. I know Orchard Beach in the Bronx but I don't remember if they allowed dogs?? I used to live in the Bronx but I didn't own a dog then. good luck. | |
