| How much/far do you walk your Yorkie? Hello all! I thought I would stop by and say hi - I love this forum but, right when I got really into it, my mom passed away and my life has gotten really chaotic since then. But, I'm still raising Cujo, and he's doing great! He's 12 weeks old this week, and I was wondering how often do you all walk your doggies? I usually take a 2 mile walk every day, and wanted to bring him along. So far, I let him walk the first mile, and then carry him for the last mile. He gets water breaks, in case he gets thirsty. He seems to like the walks so far. When he gets home, he usually will take a nap. I kinda like getting some of his energy out this way! What do you all do for exercise? Thanks, Debbie

| Walk I want to take mine along. But my boy Jack is in the process of getting all his shots. Once the rabies has been administered, I will take him on walks. But the vet advised me to not bring him places where other dogs may have been. When he is ready probably a couple times around the block. Jack and Mandy's Mom |

| We have been going for walks when it cools down. We take a 1.5 mile rout. I have my niece in her stroller and when Gus tired he will jump in the back basket located on the bottom of the stroller. He does this once in a while but most of the he will walk the whole way.

| A Mile!!! WOW, most of mine won't walk a block, they want in the stroller or to be carried, but that is my fault. A mile is a long walk for a little Yorkie...too hot here. |

| I've haven't taken annie on a long walk in awhile as we have been busy... But when I was training for a 5k (3.5 mile) she would go on jogs with me with no problem. She is about 5-6 lbs and at that time she was probably 10-12 months. But even from maybe 4-6 months on she would go on very long walks. We live in the NYC area so walking is what we do... She has a blast... And when she was too little, she would let us know when she was tired... She would just plop her littly hiney down and wouldn't move... So I'm sure you'll know when you're little one has had enough! You'd be surprised, what they can take... When we would get home from our runs, I'd be dieing and she'd be like are you kidding we're done? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | We walk across the street....LOL. Seriously that is the only walk Trace ever goes on. Fortunately, we have an acre back yard, there's no need for walks cause he gets plenty of excerise in the back yard. I'm sorry for your loss. My mother died 14 years ago and I still miss her every day

| I take Coco for short walks, like 30 minutes walks. She gets tired after about 20 and starts jumping up my leg to be picked up...like a baby...what a spoiled princess I have..hehe

| I don't walk Shelby. We live on 10 acres and I go outside every day and she just runs to her hearts content out there. My family's chow/golden retriever mix is in a pen out there and Shelby will run around the pen and Belle will follow her from inside the pen it is like their game. And they both get excercise. |

| Bella goes out at least 5 times a day and visits the dog park once or twice a week. We usually take her around the block or across the street to the park when we walk her to do her business and play.

| When i take them to the mall they walk part of the time and ride in the stroller or are carried the rest. At the park, we play but really not just walking. My daughter takes Buddha on walks but not too far. |

| every morn around 620a.m. - 6:50 a.m. we walk for like 3 -4 city blocks plus and avenue... and every tuesday we walk to puppy class which is like 20 blocks from my apt. b4 i was worried due to the heat and first time walking too far that i would carry him most of the way. he loves to run crossing the streets so ive been getting a work out too .. ive lost like 4 lbs ... eeeeeeeek this past tuesday he practically walked all the way home. i think our walks are building up his stamina but once we get home he is completely KNOCKED OUT!!! LIGHTS OUT... PUT A FORK IN HIM HES DONE ... OUT!!! SO FUNNY!

| I generally take Deegan for a 15 minute walk before work, and then another 30min-45min walk in the evening. Give or take at night. But I don't know what I am going to do in the winter. I hate the snow and that crappy weather. I usually hibernate all winter long. From the house door, to the car door, to the work door. That's it. I will have to find another way to tucker him out durign those cold months... it's coming soon too!
