| Another food question. Hi. When I got Tila she was on Iams puppy and little ceaser wet food. I changed her food recently, gradually....to Royal Canin. Is RC a good food? Because they did have Oriijen, so now I see that people seem to prefer the Oriijen. I know its up to me what I feed her in the end, I'd like to have her and Odie on the same food, I just want it to be a good one. PRISON BREAK! Gotta go, I love Wentworth. |

| I use Royal Canin... When I got Baron he was on Purina puppy food. He seemed to always use gas. I tried several kinds, but the Royal Canin is what he's done best on. My other dog loves it too. No more gas and loose bowels. I really like the dog food, They're happy and healthly on it. Also, I LOVE Prison Break, I just got done watching the season premier. I Loved it. Boy I missed that show!!! Wentworth Miller is SOO hot... We should start a new group!!! The Prison Break Yorkie Mamas, LOL Take-Care, Baron's Mom

| Orijen is a GREAT food and in my opinion, a million times better than RC. I think RC costs way too much for the low quality. A lot of Yorkies have have had problems with allergies and itching due to the corn content. For future reference, posting threads like this in the Health and Diet section will get you a lot more responses! Here is a link to it: Yorkie Health & Diet - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community Good luck!

| I picked out Royal Canin for Chewie because of its poop odor inhibitors. It turned out that he was allergic to something in it because he got super itchy. I made posts on here and to my surprise, that was a common outcome of dogs that ate that food. Chewie has never seemed to exhibit allergies to anything and he started out eating crappy food with corn and all sorts of mess in it that I eventually found out wasn't good for him. It wasn't until he started on RC that he started getting the major itchies. He didn't start itching until about a week or so into feeding it to him. Here are some posts of mine about our experience along with just general posts about food quality. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-all-time.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...reduction.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...over-35-a.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...cha-smoke.html

| I haven't personally used Royal Canin, however I have not heard good reviews.. The corn seems to be an issue for many Yorkies... I feed my two Merrick, its a fantastic food in my opinion. I would take Princess Diana's advice & post in Health & Diet... Good luck! X

| The Prison Break Yorkie Mamas! LOL! I like it. The season premire was crazy. A whole new season of Wentworth.......anyway I was thinking about it and I did notice Tila itching. I can't seem to find anything on her. I've tried looking and looking to see if it might be fleas. But I haven't seen anything. I'm just not sure if it's that I'm not looking well enough. Because you know my babies scratch, like once in awhile. Which I assume a little scratch once in awhile to be normal. I get itchy sometimes so I assume they do as well. I wonder if it is perhaps the food. Hmmm. How would i know for sure and if that is the case, should I switch them to Oriijen? Because I have to go the city to get good quailty dog food. I don't remember seeing Merricks there. And Duh, I better post this in the food and diet section. Thanks everyone. |
