| ![]() i just adopted a puppy last night. a "7 week old" hairless chinese crested female. Anyways, my question is, she does not have any teeth yet, and she is 7 weeks old? that doesnt make any sense. i felt her gums, and i can feel teeth but none has grown out of the gum, but starting too. is 7 weeks her right age? i will be taking her to the vet this evening to double check, but if she is less than 5 weeks or even 6 weeks old, I WILL report the breeder. she says they were born July 12th that makes them almost 7 weeks. please help me out here... also, at this point what should i do? feed her? how do i play with her? she just seems to wana sleep, and cry every time i try to carry her and/ or hold her. thank you...

| ![]() My Chachi didnt have teeth at 6 1/2 weeks when I got him but he had some shortly after. I have also heard on here of yorkies having them at a younger age so I dont know I would ask the vet

BANNED! | ![]() Most develop teeth by 7 weeks of age. I'd start to be concerned if they don't come in soon. I'd ask your vet what their thoughts are on approx age you could have been told your pup is 7 weeks when she might only be 5 weeks. As far as her crying when you hold her or pick her up that doesn't sound good, I recommend getting her vet checked asap. It is not normal for a puppy to cry when held, she could have internal issues you cant see. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | ![]() Small young puppies do sleep quite a bit. There should still be times...she's active though.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | ![]() I understand...it's all very new to her. She doesn't understand what happened to momma and her litter mates. Be very patient and speak gently. Another suggestion when you want to pick her up...sit down first so you aren't looming over her. Not implying..you're a big mean orge...but body wise...an adult bending over at the waist is a very big something...in her eyes. ![]()

| ![]() I'm a bit surprised the breeder let her go before she's at least 12 weeks. Well maybe I'm not surprised at all since I keep reading about folks getting pups at 5, 6, 7 & 8 weeks old all the time. Personally I would not take one home till it's at LEAST 12 weeks. I want my babies to learn a lot from their mom and to be a little more adjusted. I'm sorry your baby is off to a worring start for you. I sure hope the Vet. doesn't find anything wrong with her.

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | ![]() it could be that your baby was the runt...because kioko was the runt and at 10 weeks barely got any teeth...and i too was worried...i didn't know he was the runt until after i bought him home....

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | ![]() well Kioko's teeth didn't come in for a long time...i mean you feel it and maybe one or two came in but i think they barely came in at 5 months...what i did with his food was grind it in the blender so that he can dry kibbles...and am shocked that breeder let your babie leave so early...i mean i picked Kioko up at 10 weeks due to having to go to surgery or else i would have came at 12 weeks..just watch your baby very carefully...maybe sure your baby is getting enough food and the sugar level don't drop cuz that could some unneccesary events...go out and get a tube of nutri-cal and give it to him/her 3 times a day i think...i can't remember...to keep the sugar level up...
