| Male dogs How do I know when they are just playing and when they are really fighing?? My boys are 5 months and 1 and 1/2 they wrestle around all he time, but sometimes it sounds like they are REALLY fighting! What o i do? if they are fighting i know its cause the are trying to be 'top dog' do I stop them, or let them figure it out unless they start hurting each other??? Thanks! |

I don't have two males only one. However, If it were I, I would be top dog and not allow either one of them to be above the other. That is the only way to have harmony in the house, from what I read and seen on Ceasar Millan. You must be their leader so they won't try and take the lead. You want them to get along and enjoy each other's company so be their Alpha, be their boss and let them just be dogs. Good luck, | |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Puppy play sounds very rough and tumble. I have three. I have seen actual fights...and there is no mistaking it. You'll know the difference trust me.

| Gracie Ruth can get very animated and sounds like she is tearing Boo's throat out. We call it "Going Cujo". But when I actually look and see what's going on, it just her being very vocal and playing. Gracie is very vocal about everything. And they will both show teeth to each other, but the difference is their ears are up and nearly always their tails are wagging. Like stated, you will know if it's a for real fight. There really isn't any mistaking it.

| If you could actually hear her going off on poor Boo, who has a very special spot in heaven because of his patience with this girl, you'd see why we say that. It's hilarious to hear this horrible awful ruckus going on and look over and there stand Boo with his nose in the air, trying to keep it from being bit, and his eyes rolled back and looking up at you. I can just hear him saying, "Do you see what she's doing to me!?" Of course, he's just waiting for the opening he knows will be coming...when something else momentarily catches her attention and he can play fight bite her legs or neck. Then it usually moves on to "the chase". And by then you better be good and safe out of the way, 'cause "the chase" pauses for no man. In fact I think there are extra points for actually hitting someone. sigh...I hope they never stop playing and entertaining us like they do.
