Male dogs How do I know when they are just playing and when they are really fighing?? My boys are 5 months and 1 and 1/2 they wrestle around all he time, but sometimes it sounds like they are REALLY fighting! What o i do? if they are fighting i know its cause the are trying to be 'top dog' do I stop them, or let them figure it out unless they start hurting each other??? Thanks! |

I don't have two males only one. However, If it were I, I would be top dog and not allow either one of them to be above the other. That is the only way to have harmony in the house, from what I read and seen on Ceasar Millan. You must be their leader so they won't try and take the lead. You want them to get along and enjoy each other's company so be their Alpha, be their boss and let them just be dogs. Good luck, |
Puppy play sounds very rough and tumble. I have three. I have seen actual fights...and there is no mistaking it. You'll know the difference trust me. |
Are they fixed? I know that might calm them down a bit. |
they love eachother, and have so much fun!! I am the 'top dog' i didnt know if they were wrestling over 2nd... most the time its play, but sometimes they start showing teeth and growling while wrestling.... |
oh and the older one is getting fixed friday! |
Mine sometimes growl when they play as long as neither yelps I dont break it up |
Gracie Ruth can get very animated and sounds like she is tearing Boo's throat out. We call it "Going Cujo". But when I actually look and see what's going on, it just her being very vocal and playing. Gracie is very vocal about everything. And they will both show teeth to each other, but the difference is their ears are up and nearly always their tails are wagging. Like stated, you will know if it's a for real fight. There really isn't any mistaking it. |
