As Megansmomma had said it best....people are mean and judgmental when it comes to this site....I was just catagorized as a bad breeder being I'm not breeding to the standard. Just because I say my female is only 3.25 lbs and now is about 4.25lbs after whelping doesn't make her a total non-standard dog other than her weight...but now if I cont. to over feed her and put more weight on and she becomes 5 or 6lbs...then she's okay and up to standards. She's still the same dog but heavier. And now she'd be acceptable to breed being she fatter....go figure!! I done with this sillyness. Its childish and immature!! Best of luck... |

I'm sorry people felt put on the spot, but from what I remember, and of course this is my own opinion, I thought this was a good discussion. Obviously the OP knew this wasn't going to be a straight forward thread, but I thought that was the point... People for, people against, and the ones in between were stating their opinions and cracked a few jokes here and there (all in good fun) and to me it all seemed informative and I can see where people were coming from. |

Hey, I think pups r cute also, but I agree with the other ladies. To me a designer dog is what you find in the pounds. It's a mix breed, and a lot of people are now just making pups for money. It's sad, there are sooo many pound puppies, some die, others are waiting for someone to love them. |

Yorkie or not......I still believe your baby is BEAUTIFUL. That e-mail was uncalled for if you ask me and mean. Some people need to get a life. Maybe you should have asked her if she has been DNA for any "human" lines to see if she was "full blooded" human. |

I'm not saying I disagree with designer dogs, I think this should be the their choice when buying or breeding. This type of breeding does not take food from my table nor does breeding anything else except humans (taxes). |

since there are no laws to protect dogs, anyone can breed them.. breeding a chihuaha to a great dane is just ridiculous.. but a yorkie and a poodle are a great mix.. the purebred dogs of course have standards.. a breeder is supposed to look at the standards and use it to choose which dogs to breed.. as stated in earlier postings, the dogs bred together should be good examples of their breed with none or few flaws.. even when mixing a breed. you dont know what you will get when mixing different breeds.. but so far, it has been a good surprise.. my purebred yorkie puppies were also very nice.. i have mixes and purebred yorkies.. so i do see both sides of the story.. still learning something new every day:animal-pa |

Your right about about the original Poster...that's me!! I posted it and knew it was going to be questionable and that's why I asked...to see what and how people felt....but not to be judge and labeled a poor or non quality breeder...just because I breed my female who at the time weighed 3.25lbs. See this is where there are some that are full of BS and others that can look at an animal and see that just because of smaller weight doesn't mean she can't breed. Yes, she did pass one pup and then had to have a csection, of which doesn't mean a thing...being all 3 pups where on one side of the uterous...but thats beside the point. To each there own. |
