| I love the temperament of shih-tzu's---I had one many years ago and he was so sweet. I also find cavalier king charles spaniels darling! Either of those or both might be my next choice(s)--shhh! my hubby doesnt know yet- lol!

A Shih tzu I say this because my male yorkie just loves to play with the female shih tzue next door. They run and play in the yard and it is fun to watch them. Last edited by ellie48; 08-20-2008 at 06:52 PM. | |

| How sad that you had to give Lola a new home. What type of dog was she? It is not necessarily the breed of dog but more their personality that causes a problem. When you make the decision to add a new friend for Trixie purchase for the temperament and also the breed. I am sure that Lola has a wonderful new home.Quote:

| Lola was bought on line as a shihpoo, and shipped to me. n Then I got the wrong dog. turned out she is actually a bichon. If you go to my albun you are going to see that that is what she is. Lola was not aggressive against my cat or my child. She was very gentle, and extremely ,loving. She was playing with trixie like a robber toy all the time (shewing her up) chasing her nonstop, exact. Even if her intentions were not to hurt her, she did. The last episode was just to scary. |

| We wanted a friend for Sawyer, so we got a Biewer. They are so great together, they play for hours, and then sleep curled up together. We just got back from camping for the last three months, and they were the delight of the trip.

| I's funny, my first dog was a shih tzue, I got him from the shelter, and he die seven years after from renal problems. I must say, He lived a long life, he was already old when I got him. Olso I think gender migh have something to do with them getting along |

| We had 3 schnauzers. Max(mini)Mandy(mini)Tina(toy). When Max passed away, we all grieved and Mandy was not the same. When it came time we bought Kayla (yorkie) and she loves both of them. Even though she and Tina are about the same size she is really best buds with Mandy. Isn't that strange how things work because I would have thought she and Tina would have played better but she seemed to sense that Mandy needed her. They are really close. |

| I have 3 Yorkies and 2 Chihuahuas!! I love them together because they both have those feisty, stubborn and funny personalitites!!! They get along great and they don't bully each other!! Everyone stands up for themselves and they are all the little bosses, my hubbie and I work for the comfort of our dogs!!

| Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Well I would opt for a biewer--they are also hypo-allergenic--I've owned Lhasas, Bichons, Yorkies & Havaneses--my favorite is my Havanese and my Biewers. But half the fun is the search, JMHO |

| I don't know if it's just my dog or if it's the mix breed itself but I have yorkies and I have one Morkie (Maltese Yorkie) and Tia is the calmest, most well behaved and easiest dog I've ever had to train. I've heard that mixes make better pets but I guess it all depends on the dog too. I guess I'll pipe in and say either another Yorkie or a Morkie. If you decide to go with a mix please consider adopting. You'd be surprised how many you'll find on petfinder. A lot of Yorkie Poos and Morkies. Far better to adopt then buy especially with the prices you're paying for the designer dog that is really nothing more then a mutt. I hate using the word mutt I really rather prefere mixed up pup but growing up really this is what they were and you could find tons at the local shelter. Good Luck. Elaine |

![]() i would love a great dane or a boxer.. too cute!!! it's funny because the bigger dogs think they are the small ones ![]() we just got Gemma a couple weeks ago.. (another yorkie).. her and Avie play so well together! BEST CHOICE we made! ![]() like others have mentioned.. i think it just depends on where you get the pup from.. and the individual personality of each doggie!
