| I can't praise the use of the X-pen enough. It has been a godsend for me. I also put a little bed (or her small crate), food, potty pad in a holder so she doesn't shred the pad, safe toys (no squeaky toys for when I am not home), and a bottle of water attached to the pen so she won't spill and lose her water. I also treat the X-pen like it is her own personal room where she is safe when not being supervised. Now that she is getting older and bigger I am concerned she may try to jump out. So far she has not attempted it. |

| This is a great question, I was wondering this myself. Thanks for the info, it'll come in handy when I get my furbaby. If the OP doesn't mind, I'd like to ask a question too... I've been reading about putting shower curtains and blankets under the ex-pens for the new puppy, does it help keep messes off of carpets? (especially when renting an apartment) Is it better to use the blanket alone, or the shower curtain and blanket? Is there anything else that someone would recommend?

| I think the x-pen that everyone is suggesting might be better than a playpen. I do have a playpen but now they use it just for naps. It says on the directions not to leave them alone in a playpen. I always crated Kayla until I got home from shopping etc. (don't work outside the home) She had her little water bottle and I just put her stuffed animals in there, not anything she could get choked on. Good luck with that new baby. |
