Is $40.00 to much to pay for grooming every six weeks. Sal enjoy going to get groomed but my husband think it is too much for such a little dog. Do you think so? |
I think its reasonable. I know some ppl that pay more. I have 3 babies so I groom them myself. |
That's what I pay. I just don't tell the hubby what I send.:D |
I pay our groomer $35 total 1x a month for Izzy's grooming. Then at Xmas time he really gets a nice gift from us (we get him gift cards at his favorite shopping places!!). Well worth it for me..he does the hard stuff and I just maintain during that time. :D |
$45 is what I pay. It's a little high for this area, but they do NOT use cage dryers. |
We pay 38.00 here in Knoxville at Petsmart. They do a great job for us. |
the two times ive taken rocky i have payed 50 the first time and 60 at a different place |
No I pay $35 |
It's within reason, plus a tip if not the owner. I use to think it was alot of money until I started grooming Buddy myself and he's good. It takes alot of time and patience so I think, if you like the groomer, it's definately worth it. |
Sounds reasonable to me. They do take a long time to do, like 3-4 hours so that's like $10/hr. If they do a bad job then that's when I complain. But since I have 3, the hubby grooms them himself and he does better than the groomers but he's lazy at times so I have to fork it up. |

i think 45 is reasonable! i pay that much every 6 weeks also. |
But honestly, do they really need to go to the groomer every 6 weeks?? I can't even remember what I've paid for Tatum in the past because she hasn't been to a groomer in about 2 years. Once her hair got long and I had the groomer cut in kinda long layers, it seemed to stop growing. I love the length of it but it's a good thing I wasn't going for a full length show coat. When I bathe her, I trim her ears (not every time) and buzz between the pads of her feet and her little hiney area. Every so often I get my vet's assistant to cut her nails - only because it takes her about 2 minutes where as I would fight and struggle with Tatum for hours, upsetting both of us! I just don't know what you would need to get professionally groomed every 6 weeks or less. I guess what I mean to say is, Tatum surely doesn't need it that often. |
That's about what I pay. I tried a slightly cheaper place last summer, and they completely butchered Gus. You get what you pay for! |
I pay $40 each. She charges $35 and yes she is the owner, but I tip her anyway because she accommodates my schedule, lets me stay, gets both of my dogs done in under 2 hours, only does one dog or family at a time AND she puts up with Sam who constantly tries to jump off the table and can be a complete monster. Luckily Loki is an angel every time we go. :D |
Now, mine charges $25 plus tax, but I always give her a tip because I really appreciate her doing the hard stuff. I think she used to charge $30, but now she has a shop at her place and not nearly the overhead she had previously. She's groomed her since I brought her home. They're best buddies. I ask Kacee if she wants to go see Angie and she's dancing and crying all of the way to her place!:D |
The last grooming for Crosley was $35 plus tip and when we had Camden done it was about the same. Before that it was costing us $50-55 with the tip at a different place! We are now grooming Wrigley and Camden at home! |
We pay $40 per dog per groom, however, I try to keep up on things at home so I only get them groomed every 10 or so weeks. I trim nails, butts, and ears, or have it done quickly at Petsmart for fairly cheap. |
I pay $22 and take Tinker about every 8 to 10 weeks to get groomed. |
I think it depends on where you live. I pay more. :) |
I have always paid $40 to $45.00 per visit not including the tip for my other dogs. I now use a different groomer and it's the same for the works or $26.00 for a trim. The reason I switched groomers after 12 years is because I found this one who only does one dog at a time so it's faster and I can stay if I want. |

my grooming tab is always $42.00:) so, i guess not! i say if you find someone you like and TRUST--thats a good price! |
grooming We pay 32.00 here in Sask. Canada.. and the groomers are so nice!:) |
$40.00 seems reasonable, I was paying $52 everytime I took Shelby and my mom was paying $45 everytime she took her pomeranian. We have them on the 2week plan now so we pay $16 every 2 weeks for each of them plus any extras we want done.... but I do not think $40 every 6 weeks is a lot at all!! |

sounds fairly reasonable to me,, now when i used to take my girls ,, I only paid like $28 each,, no matter how often they were taken,, but then our groomer moved,, and her replacement is not one i would use,, so then I just decided to do my girls myself,, saves me a lot of $ and this way I know whats done when and how,, no stress on my girls this way |
I paid 32.00 for Poppy first grooming (a puppy cut) from a shop I will not use anymore. So I think 40.00 is okay but I would look around for more if I don't think 40 is okay. |
That seems to be average for what I've been quoted. I have a deal with a groomer/rescuer. I train her rescue dogs and she grooms my yorkie! |
My groomer charges $35, which I think is good considering how long it takes to groom one dog & what a great job she does. |
