I pay $40 for Teddy, and I drive nearly 30 minutes to take him to the groomers. Groomers in my area overcharge, and they end up making Teddy look ridiculous. But the groomers I drive nearly 30 minutes too, absolutely give him the best cut. He looks gorgeous after every cut. I'm happy to waste the gas and the 40 to make Teddy look good. |

basically if they are doing a great job and are treating your little one right, it should be worth every penny.... ;) |
Sorry, I can't really be of much help here cause Maggy May has never been to see a groomer. However, my sister has a full breed yorkie and she's taking him to get groomed, they are charging her $35.00 not to much more than what you are being charged so it must be a pretty fair price? |
i used to pay $28 per dog...hehe...i have 6 of them...but now i will be grooming them myself...hehe |
I don't think that it is too much. I pay 40.00 every six weeks or so. The groomers are fantastic with Odie. Infact they have two groomers when they do him because he is too small for the harness on the table so one holds him and the other does the grooming. He is always happy to see them and when I go to pick him up he is usually sleeping or they just leave him wander around the shop. Odie has been going there since he was about 8 weeks old. So he is very comfortable to go and get all dolled up. :p |

I pay $l00 for Tootsie and Teddy to a mobile groomer about every six weeks. I'm beginning to think it is too much. |
I have paid $50 here in Dutchess County NY. I don't pay anymore because the last place I went to butchered my Tobey and I wanted his hair to grow long. It is finally starting to grow back now. I will trim them myself from now on. |
thanks I let my husband read the response and he got up and did so a word about Sal's groomers fees. |

I paid 35.00 for Sam's haircut. :dogsm2: |
Here in NYC I had paid up to $95.00 per dog for a full grooming, My friend has her own business and she charges up to $75.00 not including the taxes and tips....When ever her/mine schedule permits she comes to the house and groom my babies for $80.00 for the both and I guess for being here that's a great deal being that she has to come here, sometimes I just go over to her house. |

I pay $50 I use to take Toto to a groomer that only charged 30 but the last time I took him the place stunk and it was very messy. Even I didn't want to stay there. So now I take him to a private groomer's home and she does whatever I ask and spends a fair amount of time before and after grooming discusing her proceedure and if I am okay with the cut. It is worth the extra for me and Toto. |
WOW! I guess I'm lucky here. I take Riley every 2 months. She bathes Riley, trims nails, face, feet & fannie for $12. Sounds like a good deal. |
After reading all the posts, I don't feel so bad. I just paid $55 plus tax & tip for Tiki's first grooming, which doesn't seem so bad when usually everything is more expensive in Hawaii. They asked to keep her for 4 hrs. so they could really go slow and stop when necessary being it was her first time, and I really respect that. The entire shop is visable when you walk in the door, so I was able to see, smell, hear everything right up front which also made me comfortable! Surprisingly they called me after only 2 hrs. and said she was sooo good, she was done. |
I pay $35 per groom for Scooter. I take him to Petco and they do it while I wait. I have a favorite groomer there so I always call ahead for an appointment. They are great with him and he looks so good coming out. Plus, there is a big HEB (grocery store) next door so I like to drop him off and pick him up after stocking up on groceries. |
Winston goes to the groomer every 2 weeks and it cost $15.00 each time...he loves his groomer, she is the absolute bestest!!! So, I don't think $40.00 is bad at all if only going every 6 weeks. I good groomer, one you can trust with your most precious possession is worth every penny in my book. I can not thank her enough...she truly understands each and every dog she grooms, and treats them as if they were her own. |
Lilly goes whenever I think she needs to go and I pay $30 and usually tip anywhere from $5 - $10. |
I pay $36 for Reese to go to the groomer. He goes to Femmes and Fidos here in Newport News, VA in Port Warwick. The $36 covers his shampoo, cut, release of the anal glands, nail clipping, and his teeth. If I have prior plans like work or school, they will keep him until I'm done. While he is there, they feed him, walk him, provide play groups at times, and provide a bed for him. I love that place too. Beautiful area, nice/ patient people, and they stay open until 8 or 9pm |
i pay that too, but they give her a cleaning, cut cologne, hand dry her, nails ears and teeth. and they use all natural products and she came out beautiful so i didnt complain! |
My 3 get groomed in a nice salon owned by a local lady in my town, I pay $38.00 for the 2 yorkies, they get their ears clean, anal glands empty if needed, and brushed teeth in the package. for my silky girl I pay $30.00. she does everything herself and they get done in a couple of hours.I do take them every 6 weeks. I LOVE HER.. hugs, cArmen in nj |
I pay $100 for all three. He does a great job and I usually give them the "snorkie" cut. A modified schnauzer cut. In the winter he leaves a little more hair on the back and less on the legs so the hair does not mat with sweaters on. I take them about ever 2 months. He has his own shop and has been grooming for 25+ years. He does not even have a helper so I always tip him. He is great with them too. Only bad thing is he will retire in 5 years... |
I have been using the same groomer for 20 years. When I first started going I paid $18 and only went when I thought there was a need. As the years went buy I would go every 6 weeks. Now with Piper I go every 6 weeks and pay $45 and my groomer is worth every penny. In all the years that I've been using her my babies have never come home with a cut, burn or scratch. She doesn't even take new customers. When our babies cross over the rainbow bridge we usually find a new baby to love and bring them back to the same groomer. I always tell her she can never retire because I wouldn't trust anybody else with my baby. |
I pay about $60.00 + tip per dog. But I only take them both every three - four months depending on how fast they grow. I maintain the feet/nails and shave the butt in between grooming visits. |
I pay that for 2 of my dogs and the groomer comes and gets them if I need her too. That includes a complete shave down for my poodle and a lion cut for my sheltie. If I just want them trimmed its only 10 per dog. Ive been using her for a few years and love her!! |
