| Ok great!! How about drying him after the bath? Someone at the Petsmart said to use a hair dryer? Not sure how true that is? Any suggestions? |

| We just got our new puppy as well and he is 11 weeks. He got a bath after 2 days and he did great! I think maybe the younger you introduce them to it, the better they will do.

| gentle I would make sure that I don't spook him and talk real calm. Depending on where you bathe him, my suggestion we be kitchen sink. Get all the supplies you need because you do not want to take one hand off of him because he can jump out in a "New York Minute". Remember safety first always when grooming. Use a mild shampoo and keep the soap and water out of his nose. I do this my holding up their little snuts. I use water that is luke warm NEVER HOT OR COLD. Try it on your hand first. Get one of those little shower heads you can get at the beauty supply... I talk in a calming voice the entire time and tell them how good they are. I have just recently started a little nibble of treat if they sit still on command and don't jump out of the sink... Introduce the water slowly and calmly. If you do it correctly and make it fun...he will look forward to bathe, if you scare him.. I think you will be up to a few night mare bathes... This is new so expect him to be scare and try to flee... You may use a blow dryer... I suggest you cut it on and let it run so he gets use to the noise before you put it on him. Make sure that it is low heat and test it on your hand if it is to hot for you it is really to hot for him. Start with slow blowing heat and air....and tell him how good he is... YOu will do this a few times before he starts to cooperate and realize it doesn't hurt and if I do this I get to cuddle with mommy longer...LOL

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | welcome to YT...glad you found us! he isn't too young for a bath...and yes i would hair dry him...and brush him at the same time...a good brush i recommend is the madan brush or CC brush...i myself don't own a CC brush because i found the madan brush and now own 4 of them...hehe...i also just received the 3 CC combs i ordered... for shampoo and conditioner it depends on the type of coat he has? can you tell if its silky or cottony?

| It takes two of us to give Louie a bath, but we do use the kitchen sink and we tried the blowdryer. They both work really well. Louie is about 4.5 months. Is once a week too often to bathe him? What about when he gets older?

| 10 weeks isn't too young! Just talk to him and calm him while you bathe him. Make sure you use a tearless shampoo so you don't hurt his little eyes and keep the water and soap away from his nose and ears. As far as using a hair dryer. NUDiva had a great point.. turn on the dryer first without using it on him so he can get used to the noise. Mia hates the hair dryer, she'll try and nip at it the entire time so I gave up on that! Mia gets a bath about every 5 days and she still hate them. As soon as the water starts running she runs straight for my boyfriend for him to save her! I walk towards her and the ears go back.. she makes me feel bad every time.

Haha.. you'd think after SO MANY BATHS, they would just jump in the tub and get it over with and realize if they cooperate it'll be over faster. Maybe one day? haha.
