| Freaking out please help I am about to throw up. I just saw a list that showed the breeder that i got mya from as being on the AKC revocation list. Does that mean it was a puppy mill? i am FREAKING out. Mya is 100% healthy as per her vet visits and is extremely well behaved and doesn't appear (to me) as having any physical or health abnormalities. should i worry? I don't know why they were revoked, they are registered with the CKC but i saw that this doesn't really mean much. I love Mya, I just am worried about her future would I already see signs of her being from a puppy mill? Please help calm me down, I don't know what to do with myself hysterical crying. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow and am going to tell them what I am feeling and found out and see if they can do an extensive check on her (which they already did, but just incase) Please help calm my nerves without lecturing me I love my Mya |

| Oh no! I would be worried too if I found that out...I don't know a lot about all that stuff but maybe it's some minor paper-work mumbo jumbo and hopefully nothing that will affect you and your baby..hopefully someone else with experience with AKC can offer some suggestions/advice. Keep us posted.

| From what I understand there can be several reasons as to why she was revoked. It doesn't mean they were part of a puppymill. I thought that there is a way to find out what the revocation is for. Maybe email the AKC and ask, let them know your dog is from her, sometimes they take a little bit to reply but they DO respond!

| Is this the list you saw? It will tell you the reason for the suspension: AKC suspension index Being AKC registered is no guarantee of their future health. A reputable breeder will do health testing on the parents (liver, knees, etc.) to make sure they don't pass on any genetic conditions to their offspring. Did you ask your breeder to see evidence of health testing before you bought your puppy? Has your vet done a bile acids test on Mya? Checked her knees? |

| what does a bile acid test do? My breeder does have a 1 yr health guarantee if that makes it any more reputable He really did care about the puppies (even though he had quite a few) he gave me a capstar just incase she had fleas and antibiotics as a precautionary thing from being around hte other puppies. He had just treated all of them for parvo, I mean he really seemed to care . But he did have more than 1 breed. He lived out in a farm like huge acres of land in North georgia. I am freaking out. |

| im NOT trying to defend puppy mills but just becasue they come form one doesn't mean that will be sick. the chances r high but not every single one is sick. i wud call akc or email them and ask y they got revoked. u need to calm down. if she has already been extensively checked and it all turned out fine, i would relax a bit. im not sure how old ur baby is but wen older, i would do more extensive work given she is the appropriate weight and all that. unfortunately i bought Abby from a petstore before learing about puppy mills and all that. till today (and i pray this is until the rest of her life) she has been perfectly normal and healthy. i have posted a ton of things but that was just me being paranoid... just keep an eye out for her. hugs and relax honey. ur gonna get urself worried sick |

| she is 3 months old I feel dizzy I am so upset, I don't know what to do with myself. Now I am reading up on liver shunt, and as much as she doesn't seem to have the symptoms now (she was wobbly as a puppy when i first got her but I think it was just kind of like how baby horses are) she has perfect balance now, unless a pile of pine needles is too high and she runs into it. Anyway, I know she has no symptoms of this now, but what if they are just mild and i don't notice them? Can they detect liver shunt this young in a puppy if i get her tested? Even if it is mild??? ugh i hate this, my poor baby |

| I just saw the reason they were revoked from the AKC, "for failure to comply with the recordkeeping and identification requirements." is that bad??? did they not comply because they knew it was too many dogs??? uuuuuugh |

| I'm going to have a bile acid test done on Lucie before she is spayed, which I plan on doing when she is close to a year old. I don't want to do it right at 6 months. Personally I would wait until she is a little older to do it, I would be worried about hypoglycemia at this age.

| She is 100% not hypoglycemic. The breeder even warned me about it and told me for the first 10 days to give her 2 CCs of Karo syrup just incase as a preventative measure of hypoglycemia. Which I did, and she has no lethargy or any other symptoms of hypoglycemia. As far as I know, sigh... |

If she has been ok so far I don't see a reason to panic, but just have her checked out for things like a luxating patella and a liver shunt.

| She was 9 weeks old when I got her, I have had her for 3 weeks. I wish I could check her for luxating patella myself just to rest assured until morning . |

It doesn't have anything to do with the number of dogs your breeder had. That would be cited as problems with inspections. This is the main reason why the "alternative" registries like the CKC were formed, for breeders who couldn't comply with the new, stricter requirements the AKC adopted. AKC suspensions among breeders who use the alternative registries are pretty common. A bile acids test is recommended for all Yorkie puppies since Yorkies are 36 times more likely to have a liver shunt than all other breeds combined. Mya is too young for the test to be accurate, but you should have one done in a few months. | |
