| ![]() This one is for Yorkie owners who also have a cat. When I first brought my yorkie home I feared that maybe my big moody black cat would pounce at her or nip at her or something, but ever since day 1 she has been the one bullying him. And now I feel sorry for my cat who is twice the size of her. Whenever she sees Boo walking through the house, she zips at him fast as lightning and bounces off his head, barks at him, chases him, completely terrorizes him and I can tell that Boo really isn't happy about that. He is taking the couch-table-chair arm route rather than walking on the floors now. Sometimes he will lift a paw as a warning, but never really strikes her. I feel really bad for my cat! Sometimes I have to lock Bailey out of the room by herself so I can have time with Boo. ![]()

| ![]() I'm so sorry to hear that your cat is going though that. I would suggest that you instill some ground rules before your cat retaliates. I can tell you that it will not be pretty! Cats tend to aim directly for the face which can lead to some pretty serious injuries. A firm no or a spray bottle with water to your bouncy little one every time s/he incorrectly approaches your cat should work. It worked wonders for me. Here's two of my furbabies lounging around together. So, you see there is hope... |

| ![]() Our Yorkie Tye and our cat Maggie will both be 6 in December. We rescued Tye in 2005 and we got Maggie December 2007 - we wondered how it would be but they don't even act like the other one is around. Never had any problems other than my worry that Maggie weighs about 13 lbs (she is a fat cat) and Tye only weighs 4 lbs, so if she were to lay on him or pounce (which she never has) on him, she could really hurt him. When we are going to be gone for while we put Maggie in our bedroom with the door closed just so there will be no accidents. They act like they have been together forever & they don't mind laying in close proximity to each other - they co-exist very well together.

| ![]() Sometimes when they are chasing each other I know they are playing, but most of the time it is just Bailey WANTING to play with Boo, but he has had enough. I always say NO! or SIT! and also have a spray bottle for Bailey but she just wants to play with the cat so much that it doesn't phase her. I have had her for 2 and a half months and Boo hasn't hurt her so I am hoping that once Bailey gets older she will calm down a bit with him. Thanks for the replies.

| ![]() hey lovestruck, sounds like cali & bailey would get along great! ![]() cali's constantly trying to get playdoh! our kitty is almost 10 yrs old & 13 lbs. we have 2 "cali free" zones for playdoh. we screwed boards into the door frame of the bedroom & studio. playdoh knows cali can't enter either room unless we bring her in w/ us. we know she just wants to play & playdoh will amuse cali, then says bye & bolts away. we know the girls will eventually work it out. i'm looking so forward to that day! |

| ![]() Sebastian and Oliver get along wonderfully! They really are best friends. They wrestle, chase each other through the house, pose for pictures together, and take naps side by side. It's quite funny considering Oliver is 18 lbs and Sebastian is only 6 lbs and usually, Sebastian is the one who takes Oliver down first!!

| ![]() I have 3 cats and they all react differently to Sadie, our Yorkie. Sadie loves Ripley, my only female cat, and Ripley will tolerate Sadie until she's done tolerating and will get up and leave. Sadie loves Grissom and Grissom loves Sadie. They play in the backyard together and Grissom allows Sadie to nip at him and jump over him and he doesnt care. Sadie loves Morgan but Morgan does not love Sadie. Morgan has already taught Sadie to leave him alone but Sadie tries sometimes to see if Morgan has had a change of heart and Morgan hasnt. None of the cats will sleep with Sadie but thats more because they have their places and Sadie cant reach them. All in all, its a pretty quiet house with the puppy and the cats although Sadie does enjoy a good game of "chase the cat" from time to time! |

| ![]() I don't think mine would tolerate a cat at all...at least not Trixie. (Which is just as well as hubby is allergic.) She goes bonkers when she even hears the word C-A-T. ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Chip does well with Mojo, our cat. They play together nicely. Smokey also sounds a lot like Bailey and I'm trying to get him to settle. Mojo is just not happy when Smokey is around.

My furkids Donating Member | ![]() My 2 girls HATE their BIG 22lb Maine Coon Cat brother! And he was here first!! We can't even say his name without them jumping at him. I feel bad for him. I have to separate them when I go to work for leave the house for a length of time. I'm afraid the cat with hurt them. I love cats but, when Mckenzi is gone I don't think I will ever be able to have another.
