Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Got email from ABC re: Help Stop Puppy Mills - I just got an email from ABC responding to one of my emails about Puppy Mills - I'm leaving SUPER early for a week to go to my sons wedding - but would LOVE some feedback so I can write her back when I return....I'd like to have valid information when I write her back... IF ANYONE would like to help and has information I can use in this email - please post it here !! IF you know of a REAL puppy mill - please pm me with any info you may have on the mill - I'd say post it here - but don't know if we can use addresses. The email from ABC... I would be very interested in doing a story. Tell me what your group does... and how you are trying to stop the practice. and if you suspect any places as being puppy mills... please let me know. I have a soft spot for animals and share your anger. Sincerely, Stephanie Guadian I'd REALLY love to write a kick butt email that will at least get an article here if not airtime - ANY suggestions are welcome ! Thanks |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Thanks sweetie - I've been emailing my butt off - but NOW would love to have facts or high impact stories to add to this - so is ANYONE has a puppy mill story I'd love to use it - The more facts we share - the better chance we have of an actual segment on the air ... I have a good friend that bought her yorkie from a pet store - he is dying of a nuerological disorder possibly to the heat or traveling in the 18 wheeler - I have his FULL story in a word document to use - with her blessing ....but I think the more stories I can relate via email - the better. so...I'm looking for Mills AND Pet Store stories.... so in case anyone needs to be interviewed we can refer her to them...with permission of course. |

| I really think something about the heartbreak people go through when the naively purchase dogs and then they have health problems + the fortune it costs to have them repaired would be good!

| I can not saying anything for the kennels in my area, As I do not know of any personally. But There is one I do know of his name is Aaron H. Zimmerman and he resides in PA. I bought my Westie from a puppy store (before I knew) and he was bred by Mr. Zimmerman. The store had many westies at the time, I remember going to this particular puppy store because it advertised a westie for something like $100. (18 yrs ago)When I got there the dogs they advertised were already adults, I remember asking what was going to happen to these dogs if no one bought them, and the sales person told me that they would be sent back to the breeder and be become breeder dogs. All these dogs had something wrong with them, bad teeth, brown stripes down their backs, in general very poor condition. This man should be put out of business. I have read websites where he was sited for a lot of horrible things.. DO a search with his name and you will see the horrid conditions he keeps in dogs in. As far as my westie, he had many problems, Including bad rear knees and a bad under bite to name a few. The vet was surprised he lasted the 14 yrs that he did.

| Puppy Mill/Backyard Breeder??? Several weeks ago my husband & I went to look for a male puppy. I don't know what folks consider a puppy mill but this was what happened to us. When we arrived the puppy we were to see was in the home. I requested to see some others that she had on her web site. She said she would go get them and bring them in but we knew we wanted to see the kennels. We followed her outside and about that time some more folks drove up to see her lab pups. When we got down to the kennel, all the adult yorkies were in the HOT TEXAS HEAT in cages ranging from 1 to 4 per cage! They were not clean or properly groomed AT ALL! The water and food bowls were filthy! Then around the corner came a terribly matted poodle and two pathetic looking scottish terriers, I believe she called them. When we went into an air conditioned room there were two male puppies shaking so bad and were so unsocialized and scared it was just pitiful! We now realize she has yorkies, poodles, labs and these scottish terriers for sure. We were unable to see the other adults except for the poor yorkies. I would never want a pup from there BUT we did want her investigated which has not happened. The name of this kennel is www.kimberliskuties.com in Lipan, TX! We were absolutely sick when we left there knowing those poor dogs were out in the horrible heat all caged up!!!! |

| Way to go Villette! Great job Villette! I have sent a couple e-mails to each of the major news stations, inlcuding ABC in the last few weeks. But I haven't had any feedback. But I am happy that someone has finally had a breakthrough! Go get 'em Villette - Your persistence has paid off!

| Villette- Congratulations! Your efforts are paying off in a great way! Is this for the local news or a national broadcast? I'm searching for the link, but I think you should give this woman a copy of the story written by one of the Small Paws rescue workers when she went to the puppymill auction. (I think Rini or Pat brought this site to our attention a week or two back) Here is the general website link: Small Paws Rescue Organization I'm searching through the site to find the woman's story, and will post the direct link when I find it. The story made me cry (and others from what I remember reading in posts) and it think it will be very effective. Her account of some of the people's comments (i.e. cutting out a cherry eye, blind but can still breed, etc.) were astonishing to me. |
