| its a lil box with a plastic door (kinda resembles a microwave). on the side you can set the temperature and the time. And air corresponding with the set temperature blows onto the cage and dries the dog for the alloted amount of time. The dog in the segment had been set to 100 degrees for 30 minutes. The groomers were screaming when the dog owners walked in to pick him up

| Most Definitely. I made this decision last time my Bindi was groomed. There's just too much left to chance and I dont have a trusted groomer (nor do any of my acquaintances). My Shih Tzu would go in and come back home with a cut here or there :-( Poor baby.

| OMG!! That sounds so awful! Talk about tramatizing the little ones!! I've brought Maggie to the groomers once and they were very nice but I don't think I'll go back - she's been skittish around people since then but I'm not pointing fingers - I have no idea if anything happened, I'm just not going back. How do you go about learning to groom yourself? I can't keep her still long enough and I wonder if there are any tricks to make it easier? I'd love to learn!

| Yes, I saw it. And have heard of it before. None of the groomers around here use those. I have also seen pics of dogs burned badly by those.

| OMG that is so scary and those poor dogs that died in those cage dryers. Breaks my heart. I love my groomer....I'm gonna check to be sure she doesn't use that kind of dryer. I want to learn how to do it myself too but I just don't know if I have the skills to make them look good. I have a feeling they would look very silly when I got through with them.

| I heard of cage driers some time ago, when I was looking for a groomer for Gracie. I saw a dog in one at a shop, the poor thing was scared to death and it was so noisy. From that moment on, I refused to permit Gracie to go to any groomer that uses a cage drier like that.

♥My Lil' Monkey Girl♥ Donating Member | Here is a link about it....I dont like it at all. My heart goes out to those that go through it. I will definitely check with all grooming places that my pet goes to. She has a good one right now. And im glad for that. msnbc.com Video Player

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | OMG. I think my guys would be FREAKED by those. And traumatized. But, we do all their grooming at home anyways...
