| How old is you dog? Gracie was just a little puppy when she got her first outfit and she did the same thing. It only took her a couple days, if even that, to get used to clothing. Now I can put anything on her and she's fine with it. I was advised to keep clothing on her all the time (this was during the winter) to get her used to it. We just kept a little crop shirt on her at all times and it worked like a charm for us. Good luck.

| Hi, I've just started training my 13 week old to wear cute little outfits. Every time she starts tugging or chewing at it, I use the clicker or one of her squeak toys and she usually stops what she is doing and I tell her NO with a very firm voice. That usually does the trick, she is getting better about it!! Just try to distract her quickly, maybe with a toy, as soon as you catch her doing it!!! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Some outfits are more comfortable than others, I imagine. We started Joey in little shirts in the evening because the house was cold, plus the fact it always calmed him down. I would leave the shirt on a little longer in the mornings each day, and finally he just got use to it. I know he does have favorite clothing, and it's important that things fit well, so that they don't feel impeded by the clothing. Also make sure no tags are sewn in with that nylon thread that can drive you nuts if it pokes you. I always wash Joey's clothes before he wears them, just in case any chemicals or dyes are left in, and rinse really well. Could the lace be scratchy? She looks adorable, but I think "some" clothes are more appropiate for just photo pics, and short periods.

| No, it may not be too late!!!! I do agree though, maybe the less frillier the better as she may be itchy in lace, even though it looks adorable!!! I've had some great little sunshirts custom made to fit her and they are made from ribbed cotton material. They did a great job fitting it to her size!! Just keep trying, she will most likely get used to the idea!! Good Luck!! |

| My Suzi has been real good about wearing clothes. However, she is curious and has tried to chew on the bows . It is puppy behavior though I agree to make surethe outfit is comfortable to your yorkie, and not to irritating.

| What I suggest is to start with slow periods like 10 minutes at a time and give treats while they have their outfit on to associate good things with getting dressed. Also to start make sure that the outfit is roomy and soft, a good first item to wear might be a loose, soft tee shirt or tank top. I know mine are fine with being dressed now, but they still have items they dislike. I can put anything on McKenzie and she's good to go, but Emma hates pjs and refuses to wear them so we don't do those on her, and my lhasa Lula just hates all clothes so in the winter she gets a hoodie, but other than that she stays all natural . |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | No offense - but if a dog doesn't 'feel good' in clothes - let them go without.... unless it's for a good reason (like keeping them warm)... |

| I have 5 dogs, 3 wear clothes and 2 do not!! My 2 oldest Yorkies do not like clothes or bows so they have a puppy cut and a schnauzer cut and they only wear costumes for Halloween!!! They can live with it for once a year!! I would keep trying but if she constantly refuses I wouldn't try and force it!! Good Luck!
