To the OP, if you really want a good deed, find a rescue to place these dogs. I spent months reading about Yorkies and their needs before buying one. It's a huge commitment to own any dog, but Yorkies have special needs. There is all sorts of information on diet and grooming in Yorkietalk. Read other posts that are similar to your own questions, or you can do a search. It's not possible to tell you everything about owning and training and breeding a Yorkie in one thread. I think of all dogs, Yorkies are the closest to having a human child, and best suited for those who want to take on those kind of responsibilities.

For someone who doesn't want to take the time to learn about canine nutrition in detail, prepared dog foods are a safer choice.

Well I hope it's not for real, but the fact that she is back peddaling makes me think it is.

Get an honest job as a waitress in a nice steakhouse. You can earn $100 a night in tips. Breeding any dog takes time and money. Like someone else said you might only get one or two per litter and if she requires a C section or if one dies, how do you plan to make enough to pay for college on 1 or 2 puppies a year.

This is not a well thought out plan. Please find a nice home for them as a college student with a job is not home enough to care for a dog. Also do you live in a house? Most college students live in dorms.

You don't even have to look for a rescue. I will personally drive to Missouri to get these babies and give them a good home.

I feed Royal Canin formulated for yorkshire terriers. How old are these dogs? Do you rent or own your home? What do you plan to do about them peeing on the carpet. Rehabilitating an older dog is more work than training a puppy. With a job and school you will not be home enough to train the dogs. You cannot leave them in crates all day long. If you do, you have not improved their quality of life at all. Do you have a yard for them to play in (supervised of course)?

I am seriously thinking that being an exotic dancer or hell...even a prostitute would raise more money....and faster! Crap! Nah....on the serious side...I too hope this is a joke and not some person who is that uneducated to not only think that they are going to be able to pay their way through college by breeding (whispering...one)female. But also knowing that you know absolutely nothing about the breed sickens me to no end and shows that you are more about the "potential money" than you are about the well being of these two dogs. So no...I don't think it would work to have them breed and be your pet.

Now...there are too many ways to go to college....without having to pay out! Maybe your focus should be on the various grants that are available and start applying to them. What are you going to do when you have bred these two...I am assuming you will stop after 4 years...or will you be wise and caring enough not to breed them for the next 6 or more..depending on your degree of course...I am hoping you are not going to be studying to be a veterinarian.

In a way...I suppose it is a great thing you came here to get your first rate and quick education on Yorkies.

Summing up my opinion...you have just opened up a can of worms...so I will now sit back, eat and drink my and watch the others open their cans of whoop @ss!

P.S....If after all of this, you would like to rehome your new babies...please consider me! I love yorkies and will treat them better than my own children....just ask my boys!

Save the money and apply to a trade school.
