| advice on homemade diapers? Hi, i'm a noob. sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I did a search and couldn't find it. My little sasha (the small one in my profile pic) is having her first heat and I'm trying to cut out diapers from some extra pee-pads. But, I'm not exactly a seamstress and have no clue as to the proper cutout size or pattern i should make. so does anyone have a pattern I could follow or maybe even print out?? I'm not real good with the english units but she's about 25 cm around the midsection and 40 cm head to tail. Any advice would be welcome. tia |

I Love My Babies Donating Member | I used the premie baby diapers for Sandy.. and just cut out a hole for the tail. Then a breeder I talked to, told me to get the washable pants for dogs. (They are like a pair of shorts). And use a ladies pantie liner in them. It works great. It is not bulky and it is a lot cheaper. They work great.

| You might want to use a different type of material, i would think the washable pee pad's would be way to thick. Maybe go to your local fabric store and get something out of the remnants bin. Unless your pup is going to be pee'ing in them the outside material shouldn't matter to much. If these are going to be something you will be using for a long time (if she isn't going to be spayed) then you might want to make them with a material called PUL on the outside.
