| Probably a weird question I don't really know how to word this question. I guess I am wondering.. when you are home with your yorkies, do you spend all of your time engaging them in play or whatever? I'm not home in the morning until around noon and Layla is with her grandma. I come home.. she naps and I do homework. We usually go for a walk... lately it has been later in the evening because it is so hot or we will play with her ball or whatever. Sometimes, like right now, she wants her Kong and can't have it (She has already had it once today) and doesn't want anything else.. not even to play with her ball... so i've given up and now i'm clearly on YT.. so she is almost pouting and went to sit on the stairs. I feel guilty if i am home with her and not engaging her the whole time I am with her... is that normal? Are you always playing with your baby or around your yorkie when you are home? |

| This is probably a stupid question, but why can't she have the Kong? Miko and Emma love to play with theirs too.

| Not silly at all! We take breaks playing, Winky, if he could have his way, would play fetch from the time he wakes until the time he goes to bed at night... So we'll throw a small stuffed toy for Winky now and then, or we take 5-10 minute play breaks for both of them. When Yoda wants to play, which is more rare, I guess we try to tend to that more often, since he wants to play less, if that makes sense... |

| I was wondering the same thing? Why can't she have her kong? Toys are always available to our girls especially their favourites. ~Marly

Donating YT 11K Club Member | It's not a weird question. hmm usually my 3 are always playing with each other, keep each other entertained when im home. If im online like right now, either one or 2 of them are sitting on my lap, or my bf is playing with them, or they are watching tv with my bf. Sometimes i will just throw a bunch of toys on the floor, but then they always want what the other has lol So in response to your question, i would say its half and half. If im not entertaining them sometimes my mom is, but i will also take them to the park for a long time and then by the time we get back they are pooped

| Oh Layla has her Kong.. it's on the floor right now.. but it's empty.. and that's where she has the problem. SHe has no use for it unless it is filled and at our house we put a bit of kibble in it with a few treats and plug it with a yogurt drop. She knows taht Mommy will give it to her once and Grandma will give it to her once... but she has no desire to be patient for Grandma to come home. We played fetch for a bit.. and now she is back on the stairs. but i feel better knowing that its ok if i don't play with her 24/7. i guess i think of her as my child and i know you can't NOT play with a child and just leave them be.. but then i have to remember is a dog. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | No it doesnt bother them at all, i think they see it as a game and they get all happy and run but then come back asking for more lol . They do hate it when i put them in the dog bath but they get over it cause they notice they feel better. If it bothers layla, then just spray it on her back and body only, and then if her face is too hot put some water on your hand and put some gently on her face just to wet it a little, that makes them feel a lot cooler.

I feel the same way as you sometimes. I feel guilty if I'm not playing with them at all hours. We play fetch with them and mess around with them for a good amount of time each day, but sometimes they just keep each other busy. They are actually pretty content cuddling with us most of the time.
