Senior Yorkie Talker | I wouldn't recommend stealing the dog, you can and will go to jail for that. Try taking the dog fresh water & food, a blanket or shade of some sort over the cage then call the cops and/or animal control/ASPCA. Good for you and good for the dog. Best of luck.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would call the Humane society and or the local animal control and tell them the situation, If you know where about she found him I would also call vets in the area to see if any reports of a lost puppy. I know my vets have at least 2-3 on their board every time I go. That poor baby. I hope he finds his way home or a new home inside a loving home

| I would have called the shelter or police on the first day! you should not keep a dog outside in 100 degree weather! Especially when its not your dog to KEEP! DEF. HELP him find his family. |

| New Home? There was No information on the so-called stray Puppy's collar, I had 2 girlfriends come over and do an "Intervention" on my Neighbor, it must have worked since she finally found a "New" Home for him. A Family from her Church with 2 other female Dogs and a 9 yr. old Daughter and a fenced in yard. I'm hoping in my Heart that he's living a better Life? I think anything is better than living in a crate outside in a carport in complete isolation and heat exhaustion! I hope my Neighbor has learned her lesson and does'nt take other peoples Dog's anymore? It really upset me b/c she claimed she was saving it from what or whom? He did'nt look abused or malnourished in any way! I think you should always have an ID. tag on your Dogs collar or harness just in case he gets out and definetly microchip them. I had to vent to every one here b/c I did'nt feel it was right and I told her in the nicest way so I would'nt hurt her feelings and I also felt like I had to say something to her since the poor puppy could'nt speak for himself. Thanks for all your input. |

| Hmm Gosh thats quite a conundrum. I would have done exactly what you did. The lady was wrong for her actions, the doggie could've had a microchip in him. Sounds like she just wanted a dog or something... strange! I found one of my Yorkies myself, I was on vacation on my way home, and I stopped at a rest stop at like 10pm and went to use the bathroom, and I found a little Yorkie running around loose! So I went up to him, let him smell around me, and I saw he had no collar or leash. I picked him up, (he was friendly as can be and sooo calm) and there were some other people walking their dogs and using the facilities, so I asked them if they saw ANYONE with this dog, etc etc.. But to no avail! So I waited for about 45 at the rest stop, thinking maybe someone would show up looking for their lost baby. No one showed up, and no one knew anything about him. So I left! I came back to Louisiana and went to my Vet. I had him check for a microchip and other lost dog listings, but found nothing. He told me Gizmo seemed to have had all his shots and was around 8 years old! I didn't know what to do, but I knew Yorkies usually don't just wander around at rest stops... Our family doggie was a Yorkie when I was younger, (she passed in 2001 ) so I was familiar with the breed. I just decided to keep him, because I really didn't know what to do. I certainly WASN'T leaving him at that horrible rest stop in Georgia. But now he loves it here and hes so calm! I love him! I just can't imagine why he was left there

| He's Back Again! After my Neighbor Re-Homed him twice now he's back again since Sunday, it's Thursday and on Tuesday my Breeder (Abigail's) came to visit me. She happens to own and operate the Property Management Company that runs my Complex. I explained the Dogs situation and she spoke to my Neighbor as well! She started bringing him in her House @ Night, but still leaves him outside during the Day how much sense that does make? What kind of Life is that? My Neighbor saw/heard us talking in my Carport (right next door) and now she's not talking to me but I don't really care what she thinks or feels! Now I'm going to call the local Humane Society and report her. She keeps complaining to all the Neighbors that she can't afford to keep him since she is un-employed and she keeps harassing/calling the Familie's that do take him in that she misses him etc. Why is she doing this? Why is she hanging on to him? She makes no sense to me? I't really irritating b/c she refuses to listen to anyone not just me. Of course she's not listening to me b/c she claims that I treat my 3 Yorkie's beyond "Spoiled" so she ignores me b/c I am over reacting about the "Heat". Who's going to "Rescue" him from her? |

| Wow, this makes me really sad because there could be a family out there missing their baby. I quickly read the posts but I really hope that he has been taken to a vet and checked to see if he is microchipped. Poor, poor baby...

| Somewhere in this thread I said, go get him, and I caught a lot of flack over recommending to you that you "take' the dog. That's still what I would do. This animal is no more hers, than it is yours, and you obviously are more worried about him than she is. To help find the owner why don't you take a picture of the dog...make some have you lost your dog posters up and post them around your neighborhood. You could even go a step further and put an ad in your local paper. This dog could belong to a child that has a broken heart over this lost dog. I'd run an ad, if someone with better sense than I have prevented me from going to get the dog! Best of luck to ya!

| I'm new to this community. But I am a volunteer for an animal rescue. If you will contact me personally, I will be happy to help you find a rescue group in your area than can assist you in getting this poor baby out of this situation. Many rescues have foster homes. And the dogs never actually go to the "shelter". Someone can come investigate, explain the laws and If your friends haven't already "Stolen" her. Which although not always the best choice, is sometimes our only option. It's not about you, or about her. It's about this sweet little life, who doesn't deserve her "help". Another option is to call our local 911 and report the situation. In most states this would be considered "neglect and/or abuse". Please give me a shout and I will be happy to help send you in the right direction |

| Update AAARGH! The President of The Home Owner's Assoc./Property Manager of our Housing Complex informed my Neighbor that she is "NOT ALLOWED" to leave her Dog (For the Moment anyway) out all day in her Carport in this Heat! Coincidentally she was my Breeder that I purchased "Abigail" from (My 2nd Yorkie) who said I don't have "Friends in high places"?! That was about 2 weeks ago and this morning my Neighbor finally took the Dog to the Vet., turns out he was NOT Micro-chipped! She proceeded to take him to a "Dalmation Rescue/Shelter in Roanoke, Virginia that's right from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina? My Neighbor is just plain "INSANE"! Who would go to that extent? At least it's finally over, maybe now she will think twice about "RESCUING" w/c for her was actually "STEALING' in my eyes. Now let me remind everyone that she is an un-employed Single Mother that cannot afford to "Keep him" and the current price of GAS! I personally would have found him a Home here but how about this.....You don't pick-up Dogs running around with a Collar and take them without trying to find it's "Rightful Owner"? This definetely affects the way I look at my Neighbor. |
