I was going to suggest... GET HARDWOOD! I just got mine today!

Carpeting in general is gross. So many dust mites and other stuff embedded in there. It makes me sick -- even if I didn't have a dog I woudl feel this way.

this sounds like CSI type work. I want to get a black light, but I have tile.
I like tile- much easier to clean. Once you see your old carpet being pulled up and see all the stuff that is left in the padding even after you have vacuumed or steam cleaned- its disgusting. You'll never want carpet again.

I will NEVER EVER do this and I am an avid fan of hardwood but my husband won't let me have it grrr sometimes being married is a pain
