I agree 100% with the portion of Reita's post. Not everyone feels the way I do about my babies. I am very protective and very selective about where I take them. I would NEVER TAKE my babies somewhere they would be exposed to things that are unhealthy for them. When I leave them at home, they really truly miss me, for a few minutes, but then they go to sleep and rest up for a big reunion when I get home. | YT 2000 Club Member | Here is what I have done sense day one of having Jeter home with me. I got him right around the Christmas Holiday's so I knew I would be bringing him with me to my in laws house. I bring his crate or carrier with me and when it is time to eat Jeter goes into his crate. I make a point to tell all the kids and adults who think it's ok to give table scraps DO NOT GIVE JETER FOOD>>>SOME FOODS CAN KILL DOGS IF THEY EAT IT. It has worked real well with us and NO one has given him human food I do not care if the adults think I am silly repeating my instructions at every visit, every one gets the picture I do not want them feeding him

| My post sounded harsh, and I did not mean for it to. It makes my blood boil when people "mistreat" my dogs, by teasing them or by slipping them foods that will make them sick. So.... I have had make the decision to keep them at home safe and sound (and maybe lonesome). You know, since my human babies are grown and out of the nest, my dogs ARE my children - and I will fight tooth and nail for them. If you only knew. I get into so much trouble over them.... |

I knew what you meant dont worry. but the thing is SO is the one who got Bindi for me and his mother feels like a gramma (we do not have any skin babies yet) and gets her clothes and toys all the time. so i have to bring her to meet her grandma once in awhile because she always asks for her if she doesnt come to visit. especially yesterday i did not want to leave her at home because of the fireworks. :-/ Im definitely letting everyone know how sick she got though. it just burns my biscuits because i have mentioned it on numerous occasions that she doesnt eat table food or fried foods. but its a delicate situation and i dont want to handle it improperly as i will be seeing her for years to come...

| The next time you go, why don't you leave Bindi home. If SO's mother asks where she is, just tell her you can't bring her over because she gets sick from the food she gets fed there. I know this is hard on Bindi, but after a couple of times, maybe she (SO's mother) will get the idea. |

I agree, I see some future problems if your boy friend doesn't step up to the plate and inform his mom that the dog can't have any people food. Pancreatitis is a very serious condition, and can have long lasting impact on their health; the vomiting is a symptom of it. This is your baby, and you need to protect her. It almost sounds like it a power play, but if not, you still need to be firm about this.

| It is up to your SO to step up to the plate and say something. My husband had to say something to my mother-in-law ages ago about our skin babies. It was hard on him to do it, but it had to be done for their sake. Since Bindi is your baby, SOMETHING has to be said. If after SO has said something, and she continues, then you then should say something. Pam |

| Present her with the vet bill if you end up needing to take her there. That'll make her think twice before feeding her greasy foods That pisses me off too, I HATE when people think it's okay to ignore what you've told them in regard to YOUR dog It could kill them! I unfortunately don't take my girls to bbq's anymore because I have to watch them constantly. I'd rather not even go! I hope your baby is okay

| thanks all. Ive said something to SO and he's going to tell his mom. he didnt realize she was feeding him french fries even though he was right there (too busy stuffing his face i assume). this way its not ME saying something like i always do. he also is quite concerned with Bindi's well being and does not want to get her sick just to save some feelings. shes doing better now(no more vomiting) thanks for asking shes just napping and is back on her mommy and vet approved diet.

| You should be very proud of yourself. You have taken very mature positive steps towards solving the problem. I'll keep my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that everything works out. |
