| Vent about visiting relatives So I have a gaggle of relatives staying with me for a few days. Everyone of course loves Bindi. Ive been pretty clear that she doesnt eat anything and everything, just what I give her. and of course no one paid me any mind and give her whatever they are eating. They're thinking is that shell get sad if you dont give her the food you are eating. i even caught my grandmother giving her some food that had onion in it. i just about freaked out on her. everyone thinks im too protective of my furbutt (and i should be after that incident). Bindi eats dinner everynite at 6pm.... we had a late dinner last nite (humans not Bindi) and everyone was like oh no you have to feed her dinner again bc she sees us eating and look shes begging for it that means shes hungry blah blah. ugh NO shes eaten...and if anything she can have some dry food which i keep out generally (tho she doesnt usually eat it. dont worry i change it everyday) just in case she gets hungry and i am not home. shes pooped twice today already (which she does sometimes but usually she poops in the morning and at night) and people are like omg its probably the corn i gave her (wait, what? why are you feeding her corn people). you should give her some pepto bismol. when my dogs stomach hurts i give them pepto bismol..... i was like no no shes ok she doesnt need it. and then the drama began...oh no shes goin to start cryin then. mind you this was a few hours ago and she is FINE she didnt exhibit any abnormal symptoms and no tummy gurgling. ugh they leave tomorrow though so yay! thanks for letting me vent sorry its so long and unorganized

| Im apalled that your family didn't have enough respect for you to listen to what you were telling them. I would have been furious.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | She's too darn cute, and people just can't say no to that little face. Maybe you could make some ground rules when the first enter the house. Some yorkies are more sensitive than others, but pancreatitis is no laughing matter. I think if I wanted someone to change their behavior toward my dog, I would let them know that this is very important to me. I would tell them perhaps you might feel that I'm being over-protective, but I feel like I am being "protective." These are my rules, and if you don't think you can follow them, you are not welcome in my house. I'm sorry to be so stern about this, but it very important to me. Then if they didn't follow the rules, I would confront them.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm sorry that your family isn't respecting your wishes. My family likes to tell me what to do when it comes to Lola, but they always follow my rules for her. If they want to feed her something they ask first. Most of the time the answer is no, but every once in a while I say yes. I'm very particular about what goes into her tummy. They call me a mean mommy, but I like to say that I'm responsible. I guess this teaches me to be thankful, because even though they make fun of me and call me names, at least they do as I ask. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry you are having problems. When people come to my house for holidays, parties etc I tell them flat out I have thousands of dollars in vet bills on my girls and do not want anymore. They can not have people food or they will end up in the er and I will be looking to them for the money!!! So far they have respected my wishes, but I try and keep them in the back of the house when we are eating just so no one "accidently) drops food. Glad they are leaving soon.

| I am sorry that your family is not respecting your wishes. Tell them straight out that if they do not listen to your wishes then they are not invited , there's a motel down the street! Ok, that is a bit harsh, but, the thing is your Yorkie baby can become sick easily eating the wrong foods. This does matter! it is your house, and they are the guests .

| Aww V I'm sorry your family is giving Bindi human food. At least, after tomorrow, you can relax a little and won't have to worry about watching her like a hawk. We should get together later this week. Meeko and I miss you girls!
