| Baxter can jump!! does your dog? Baxter scares me to death with his jumping. He can jump a long ways both vertically and horizontally. I am scared he is going to hurt himself. He goes berserk when you throw the ball and will jump 6 feet horizontally to go after it. He's only 6 months old and 5 lbs. My husband wants to enter him in a DockDogs competition!! I'm afraid he is going to hurt himself. How much should I restrain him? I've already started trying not to throw the ball so far. He is so enthralled with the ball that he was watching it in my hand and walked into the wall!! |

| My two jump all the time. There really is no stopping them. By the time you realize what they're doing, it's too late. Smokey once jumped from the floor and onto the couch - but not the normal way... he jumped over the back of it! Chip flies... one second he'll be on the bed then the next second he'll be on the complete other side of the room.

| Kacee doesn't do that, but little Muffin used to and she scared me to death. She could jump so high and I never could figure out how she could do it! I walked in our family room years and years ago and there was Muffin sitting on the back of the recliner! I almost had a heart attack and I just couldn't imagine how she jumped so high. Also, when she was really excited, she would jump off the back of the couch and land halfway across the room. She never did hurt herself, but I was like you are now - scared to death she would break every bone in her body. She was my little wild woman. She had lots of fun in her life. Kacee is calmer and not nearly as wild.

| Buddy is definatly a jumper, we have to double gate entry ways so that he can't get out. The only time I try to stop him is when he wants to jump off something really high.
