wow, 8 months, How adorable is that. I bet it was a big adjustment after so many years. Little boys are so special in mommy's eyes. More so then the girls at least in my case. I am very close to all my kids and my daughters feel more comfortable talking to me the he does, but maybe that is a good thing. He does have a very close relationship with his father and feels more comfortalbe going to him when it comes to advice or questions. But thats ok. We both know he is and will always be a mommy's boy. I see him grow into a young man and just think to myself,,,,,, I sure hope he makes it though another day without any broken bones, stitches, or even worse a broken heart for one of these girls. I wish he could have just been a baby forever. But that's a mom for ya. They will drive us crazy,,,, but we are soooooo blessed to have them!!! This is my monster at 10 months before any broken bones or stitches.

Why can't they stay this small forever???!!!!!

Monica ~ ALL your babies are Gorgeous!! It IS a big adjustment but we are so lucky to have our little boy. We adopted him and have had him BEFORE birth, if that's possible. I thank God everyday for blessing me with both my babies. I am enjoying it soo much the second time around since I know each day is precious, because they do grow so fast. I see it in my daughter and miss so much her chubby little dimpled hands and her sweet little baby face but fortunately I have been given another little one to cherish while still cherishing my bigger, no longer dimpled or chubby, 14 year old baby. Here are pics of our son Tristan...one is his hospital pic, and the other is of him and I taken on Adoption Day when he was 4 months and 1 week old, and the other two were taken a little over a month ago, one is of him alone and the other is of him and his sissy, my 14 year old, Brittany, and there is another of him and my daughter taken less then a month ago. I LOVE MY BABIES!!

Thank you so much!!!. This little beautiful boy of yours is a Godsend. Bless you and your beautiful family!!! My brother and his wife adopted a baby girl. And went through quite a bit to get her. It was an open adoption. They were there the last 4 months of the birth mothers pregnantcy, there for the birth, took this precious little angel home, only to have the birth mother change her mind. It was so hard to see my brother so sad. After having the baby with her for 4 days, being only being 17 and with another little one who was only a year and 1 month, realized she could not do it. So decided to give the baby back, but Social Services steped in and put her in foster care. And had been put on their waiting list. It took only a month of fighting, but they did get her back. She is now 3 years old. And she is totally theirs. It take a very strong and special person to adopt an unwanted baby, and an even stronger person to give their baby up for a chance at a better life. I'm so happy for you!!!

What wonderful stories, I always feel guilty when people have to go through so much to have the baby they dreamed of. A good friend of mine spent years doing everything possible medically and after many expensive dissapointments finally adopted a wonderful boy. I, on the other hand could apparently get pregnant from drinking out of the same water glass or if the wind was blowing the correct direction.
My Bret is well recovered from the burns, but has gotten slack about keeping the new skin out of the sun and applying the creams day & night, so his arm and leg will probably always have the marking from it.
That was the short list of hospital visits...the long one is just too depressing to contemplate, let's just say I have earned every one of my grays. kids.

I'll trade you. My kids are FOREVER getting into something.

I remember when they were real little (2 and 4 I think). The doctor told me I should nap when they do. So, I took his advice and decided to take a nap when they took theirs. I even put the baby gate up in the door way of their room so if they woke up first I would hear them.

WRONG

They are VERY sneaky. My son (who was 4 at the time) snuck out of the room (without making a sound), got the clippers from the bathroom, and snuck back into the room. When I woke up, both my kids had shaved heads........and one of them is a girl

WOW, some of you have been through a LOT! I was worried that I was the only one that didn't have a perfect family after the "What do you look like and what do you do" thread. LOL!

It sounds like you handle everything as well as can be expected. You are a REAL TROOPER. I know you'll say "what choice do I have", but I still think you sound kind of, well.....incredible!

Cripes, I'm not at all incredible. I just have no choice about what I got to deal with and a good sense of humor. There is always somebody in the world who's got it worse than me. After spending 6 weeks at Children's hospital with my other boy, I got to see a lot of heartbreak and kids who will never come out of there. Mine are all still walking and talking and talking back. Now, the Nurses, they are incredible!

I'm so sorry, but I can't stop laughing. I'm sure it wasn't very funny back then but admit it,,,,,, you have to laugh about now. I can just picture both of them shaving eachother. How old are they now and do they remember doing that?

Putting Yorkies asside for a moment.. I am the mother of 2 grown men - 26 & 29 years old. My 2 sisters each have 2 girls the same ages as my sons (give and take a year) , and all 6 of them have grown up together. WELL !! give me my boys any day.. I adore these girls, they are like the daugthers I never had BUT .. the drama and trauma growing up was incredible. Who's crying because the boyfriend is seeing some else, who's crying because she has a party and nothing to wear, who's crying because she's has PMS, the hairdresser ruined my hair, need money to have my nails done, on & on & on...ugh..

I TOTALLY understand what you're saying. My daughter is 14 years old, so the madness is just beginning but it is in full force already. She is the sweetest thing (depending on the day) and I wouldn't trade her for anything but there are days when I look at her and wonder "who the hell are you?" Her attitudes can change on a dime. I never know from day to day what I'm going to wake up to. I think it's supposed to get worse before it gets better. I say the aliens came and took my little girl and left me with a TEENAGER!! Do they bring back the daughter I know and love once they hit their twenties???

I feel for you!! I know exactly what you mean... the good news is that the aliens will release your daughter and take back that raging teenager BUT.. its not going to happen for a while... I look at my nieces now and marvel at the wonderful women they have become..

I kinda like the drama of it all. I love shopping for my girls so they always have something to wear. And crying over the boyfriend thing,,,,, well it makes us even closer, my daughters know they can come to me anytime. Getting our nails done is a blast! I take both my girls. My oldest gets her nails and toes done. And my Val gets her toes done as well. She has a few more years left before she starts getting her nails done but for now she is happy with her pretty toes. The PMS thing is not all that bad with Des, I feel really sorry for her because it really hurts her. Just last night she was up crying in pain. I ran out of Advil and to go and get some at AM/PM 1:30 this morning so she can get some sleep. (We love Advil!!!) I am not looking foward to Val reaching that age. But she's 9 and the time will be reaching us soon. She is the quiet and sweet one, but just don't get on her bad side! It takes quite a bit to set her off (Except when it comes to her brother, he really knows how to push her bottons) but when she's reached that point, watch out!!! I tell my husband that I feel so sorry for her husband. She better find herself a neatfreak who will pamper her everyday.
