Is it a bad idea to get two new puppies? We've been looking for another yorkie for quite awhile, and now we have found two! We found a little girl and a little boy from the same breeder and we can't decide. We would get the little girl without any hesitation, but we are going out of town next week and don't want to take a new puppy with us to the lake. She is already 16 weeks so she would be 19 weeks by the time we would be able to bring her home. Because of this we decided we were going to get a little 4 weeks old that would be ready to come home the week after we get back. But NOW we can't decide. Would it be a bad idea to get both of them? We already have an 8 year old male.

Are you ready to jump from one mature dog to 3 dogs, including two puppies? This will mean MAJOR supervision, twice the house training, etc. If you have the time and energy for two puppies, I'd say go for it. Also, the other plus to getting two pups is they will have each other's energy to play with, and may be lessl likely to bother your older dog!!! Way the pros and cons... 1. Cost 2. House Training 3. Energy level of your 8 year old 4. Time 5. Grooming expense for 3 dogs! etc... I know myself...I wouldn't be able to resist and I'd get them both... I probably didn't help much!

| I got 2 pups 1 month apart, a boy an a girl like you are considering. I loved it! Potty training was the most difficult thing but its doable. I think you should get them.

I bought one puppy then decided 3 weeks later to go back and buy his brother. It was the best decision we made-I just wished we had gotten them together.

[QUOTE=ScootieBootie;2068619] Also, the other plus to getting two pups is they will have each other's energy to play with, and may be lessl likely to bother your older dog!!! QUOTE] That's exactly what I was thinking. Champ (my older yorkie) is very active and playful, but he is also very set in his ways. I think one puppy would be on his nerves, always wanting to play and everything, but two would keep each others company and he could play when he wants to. Do you know adding a girl and a boy would lessen the chance of territorial problems between the boys?

Another question..believe me I'm full of them right now! If you were me would you get the girl or the boy if I only end up getting one? Like I said before the little girl will be 19 weeks by the time we can bring her home because of our trip. The little boy will be 9 weeks. Do you think she's "too old" to have the full puppy experience?
