| Chachi shakes when you brush him I don't know why but Chachi trys to hide and shakes when you brush him now. He didn't used to do this before. He was groomed not to long ago and now I am wondering if something happened to scare him. Anyone got any ideas on how to get him to calm down during brushings?

| Wow!..It does sound odd that after a trip to the groomer he shakes and is afraid now when you brush him. Maybe a treat or just someway to make it more pleasant for him again. Good luck and keep us posted. |

| Coco used to do that. But now, before I brush her, I let her smell the brush and get acquainted with it by leaving it on the floor and letting her play with it (supervised of course). Then after a couple of minutes of letting her play with it, I brush her, and she's ok.

| I would suggest that maybe the groomer did something that scared him. At first I thought maybe it was the connection to the blow dryer. I know mine don't like the blowdryer. But then I thought that all you are trying to do is brush him not use the blower while you brush. If I were you I'd talk to the owner and let him/her know how Chachi acted before being groomed and how he acts now. You can't prove anything and if you tell him/her about it he/she can keep a closer eye on his/her employees. I can't see any reason for him to be scared of the brush when he wasn't before. If he won't let you brush him, just do a little and try again later, it may take all evening to brush him. Do it while you are watching a tv movie. Or use your brush, that may calm him to brush him with a brush with your scent on it. Never know, it might work. |
