It is sometimes best to wait until he is really tired or try giving him a special treat that he loves but he only gets when you brush him. It is also important to do it everyday without fail so he gets used to it and expects it. Hope this helps.

My Ellie growls and carries on everytime i brush her rear end area. She acts like she's going to take my fingers off. She's such a brat. LOL. But I know she would never bite me. She just likes to be mouthy. I groom her every day so she is use to being combed.

| My baby is always turning around and biting the comb while I'm trying to brush his back, but he never growls or anything, so I guess I'm lucky about that -- it's just really hard to brush him with the comb in his mouth.

All of mine have given me a hard time when they were little. I have never put them up on a table or anything to groom them. I just held them in my hand when they are small enough and when they got bigger I held them in my lap. When they get older, say close to a year, suddenly they decided they like getting brushed. I will have the brush in my hand and sit down next to them and just start brushing their backs. When the brush travels down their sides they flip over so I can brush their bellies. I think they would lay there most of the day and let me brush their bellies if I would do it. LOL Tarawood: I had wooden handled pin brush the first one I had. They started chewing up the handle and I got one with a plastic handle and let them chew on the wooden one while I brushed them. It didn't totally stop them from trying to get away but it kept them busy for a little while.

Olivia will sometimes give me a hard time if I try to groom her on the floor. Lately I've been putting her on the toilet or on the counter and she acts like an angel. She just sits and let me brush her as long as I want, where ever I want, and doesn't say or do a thing. I would try putting him up on something where he can't get down. Just make sure to keep a hand on him at all times incase he gets brave and decides to try jumping off. And like everyone else said- brush him every day and he'll get used to it.

Simon is the same way! After almost 2 years I've learned the best time to brush him is at night when he is almost asleep Then he is too tired to try to attack the brush or run away.
