| Hello ... glad to see yt respond to you. I sometimes wonder the same thing about my threads ... but eventually people come around. But to answer your question ... I think smokers will tell you its ok ... because apparently they are smokers and putting their health at risk for complications associated with smoking so whats the bid deal right ? But nonsmokers will tell you the smoking is bad for everyone and everything in our environment . My sister smokes around all 10 of her dogs and who knows what will show up in the future . I was a smoker since a young age but quit 5 years ago ... but if I still smoked and when I did I never smoked around my children or animals . Recently my daughter had a new baby and the most irritating thing in the hospital for her was her nursery nurse smoked and then would handle her precious baby . Here is a woman who waited 5 years to get pregnant and then never did anything wrong with the pregnancy and then a smoker handled her precious little one and made her stink . The smell is awful so right or wrong or indifferent it still STINKS ....

I think most of the smokers here have told her that it is not okay and do feel like it is a big deal. | |

| My mom smoked around my Bichon from the time she was 5, until she(the dog) died at age 20! I don't necessarily want my dogs exposed to second hand smoke, but i'm not going to freak out if they are. |

| Just now seeing this post.... I am an ex-smoker....quit 3 years ago after smoking for 35+ years...quitting wasn't easy, but I had the help of wellbutrim ..I think it is very much a state of mind you have to be ready to quit.....I was soooooo ready to get rid of the nasty habit and I think that once you get you mind set there is no turning back....I never smoked indoors, always outside,,,,,, but that was towards the later part of my smoking days....I still regret having exposed my children to my second hand smoke and my animals....but am happy to say that now my kids and animals don't have to suffer through it anymore....Life is soooooo much better without a cancer stick !!!!!!!!!!

| My husband is a smoker and he only smokes outside. This became the RULE when we got our first pup. I don't even care if its not a big deal...I just want more excuses for him to quit!!! Ha. That said, I think secondhand smoke isn't great for them, but outside on a walk, i don't freak out about it. And I am a seriously paranoid Mommy!

| If you smoke...be a responsible smoker. Every one and every living thing is breathing the same air you are polluting. So don't subject others to your habits. Cigarette smoke is a killer...this has been proven. If you have the need to smoke, keep it to yourself...don't share it with innocent bystanders. Especially children and animals that have no way to avoid it.

| My fiance and I are both smokers, but we go outside. We don't want our house smelling up from it, and never being able to get rid of the smell, plus it wouldn't be fair to force Rocky and Bella to breathe it in. When I was little my parents smoked in the house, and we've always had dogs and they weren't affected by it, but I still wouldn't take my chances.
