| Newbie From South Florida Don't see a 'new members forum' so I posted it on here. If it doesn't belong here, feel free to move. I don't own a yorkie, but do admire them. Biewers especially. I know one very cute yorkie [not biewer] from another dog forum who's on here named armani....sooo cute. So more about me... I'm 19 years old, I live in South Florida, and I have four dogs. Pepe a bichon frise, neutered. We adopted him from the Humane Society after tragically losing my shih tzu, Lucky to a car. Princess a dachshund, soon to be spayed. Her owner didn't want her anymore. Princess a shih tzu x poodle mix, soon to be spayed. She was kept outside 24/7. ...and Princess' son, Valentino a shih tzu x poodle mix, soon to be neutered. He has bi-color-eyes, one eye is brown, and one is blue. Along with my furkids, I have fur-neices and nephews that I talk about often belonging to my sister. Lucky the shih tzu. Who's also the ''baby daddy'' of Princess my shih tzu x. Honey the shih tzu. Hockey the shih tzu x poodle. Another one of Princess' puppies. I also keep in very close touch of yet another of my dogs' puppies who my friend owns, and his name is Louie. He comes and visits us atleast once a month. Princess also has another puppy, Coco. Who's own by my sister's co-worker. I have yet seen her since she left the litter, but I hear she's doing just fine with her new lab-sibling an enjoys swimming in the pool. She originally had six puppies, two pups unforunately were too weak to make it past the first week of life, besides my efforts to save them. The pups were born this year...Feb. 10, 2008. RIP CHANEL, RIP ARMANI. Princess and Lucky's breeding was an oopsie. For now until Princess gets fixed, they have no unsupervised time with each other. Which isn't too often since my sister doesn't live with me. But they do come visit from time to time to play. This past Feburary I had to put down my heartdog, Didi. She gave me the best 8 years I could of asked to spend with her. She had glaucoma that had progressed and was not enjoying life as she use to, she also was blind in both eyes, and suffered from seizures. Though her time with me was short-lived, she was the greatest dog I could of ever asked for. I miss her dearly everyday. Life never felt so incomplete before. She's in my avatar. RIP DIDI. If you want to see pictures just go to this site: Candy317's Page - ASPCA Online Community And click on view photos. For videos go here: YouTube - candy312's Channel And to be pup pals with my dogs on dogster here's their pages: My Dogster family page. We're from Miramar/Hollywood, FL. |

| Thanks. Shih tzus are grand little dogs, aren't they? My shih tuz x poodle aka ''shih poo'' came from a pet store, but I think she was from a byb not a puppymill. Still sucks that her parents are beinging breed for greedy purposes. Most designer breed dogs are beinging bred just for money, and its a sad thing they are. Most of these breeders have no concerns on what happens to the puppies. In Princess case, she was neglected once she stop being a puppy and got 'too big' to be an inside dog and no longer wanted. Breeders who care don't let this happen. Though I had a litter of puppies, I made sure they went to good homes, so things like this won't happen. Funny, once Princess former owners found out about the puppies, they wanted one...umm yeah right I was going to give them one, over my dead body. My sister's shih tzus came from pet stores [Petland ], even though I tried and educate her on puppymills/bybs. But they are two very sweet dogs, whom I don't regret of having them in our lives. I just wish they didn't have to of been breed only for cash crop and that one day their parents are rescued from whatever puppymill/bybs they came from and stop puppymills/bybs all together. You can see on my website I'm anti-bsl and anti-puppymills and have strong opinions about both those causes, as you can see from my posts. |

| Hi and welcome to YT!! I love it here and know you will too! I also live in S. Florida (Miami) and my Yorkie mix (who is the reason I found YT!!) is rescued from Hialeah's Miami Dade Animal Services. We think a backyard breeder dumped Ella Bean and her siblings - maybe because they cost too much to care for, or they just didn't want the puppies...Either way, she is our baby girl and we love her sooo much! The whole backyard breeder/ puppy mill issue is so sad and there are so many petshops in S. Florida selling dogs. You should definitly go on meetup.com too! There are a bunch of South Florida toy dog groups and we all get together so our babies can play! Welcome!

| Welcome to YT. It doesn't matter whether you have a Yorkie to be on YT, IMO. There's so much info that applies to any furbaby. The info I read here helped me realize that my rescue Pommie's problems were allergy related. I also recognized LP, because of gained knowledge from YT, long before he was diagnosed. So, welcome with your furbabies.

| I am moving this week from Broward to Miami Dade...thats why I joined the meetup! There is a bunch of Ft. Lauderdale groups and more Broward meetups on that website too! It totally doesn't matter that you dont have a Yorkie. My Yorkie is a mix, but I joined the Cavalier King Charles site ' cause my big boy Louis is a Cav - and its not really as chatty or as friendly as this site! Everyone is wonderful!
