| whining...what is wrong??? Reese is 2 and has been sleeping in bed with me since her first week home. Just recently she has been waking up in the middle of the night whining and whining. When I open my eyes she kisses me..I almost think she just wants us to spend time with her, but this is something completely new and it is so weird. She has never done this. She is behaving just fine, eating, etc. so I don't think it is a health issue..Any ideas..I haven't slept in 2 weeks!!!

| Has anything changed around your home, like new neighbors or new neighbor's routines, like a shift change? Maybe she hears someone leaving or coming home? Maybe she hears an animal outside. Does she need to go outside? Maybe she gets cold? That's about all I can think of. I hope you get some sleep soon!

| Dogs are so intuned to their owners, is it possible you are upset about something? has something changed in your life lately? I hope you figure it out soon. Something is bothering him, either physically or emotionally ( maybe he is dreaming). Good luck, Sherry

| My buddy slept with me for the first year that we had him. Then he started waking me up with his tossing, turning, kicking, and rearanging the covers. He can not jump off my bed so I was constantly putting him down and putting back into bed. I work 8a.m. - 2:30 and get up at 5:30a.m., so that was not working for me! I now have to sleep with my door closed and he sleeps in his own bed. ..or sometime at my door. I realized that while I am at work he sleeps all day. and then at bed time a short nap refreshed him and he just couldnt sleep. When he was smaller he required more sleep so it was not a problem sleeping all night. He does not mind being in his own bed. He also gets up to check on my teenage daughter. She tells me he will come in there throughout the night jump on her bed sit with her for awhile then go on his way. Even on weekends when I am at home he naps all day long. I feel bad about moving around in the house because he wants to be in the same room with me but he is so sleepy he will follow me room to room and curl up to sleep...then around 2:30 HE IS READY TO PLAY! lol... |

| My little one started to wake me up in the middle of the night a little over a year ago. No whining, but she would just sit and stare at me or paw at me until I would wake up. Could not figure it out, but started getting up with her. She would lead me into the kitchen by the treat jar. Bad I know, but I would give her a little biscuit and then she would go back to sleep. She seems to like the mid-sleep snack, we have a quick cuddle and she goes back to sleep. Like you, I work all day and she is at home sleeping. I try to give her a chewy (rawhide or booda bone) in the evenings now which tends to tire her out. Also, I take her for a nice long walk in the evenings most nights. The extra activity seems to have helped out. Good luck. |

| When Sophie was a young pup, the vet recommended a biscuit before bed so her tummy wasn't empty. That might help since Yorkies seem to have problems with bile. Warmly, Deborah
