| ![]() i dont really have any advice about the barking other than what everyone else has suggested but I would suggest putting the crate in the centermost place in your apartment away from any ajoining walls to nieghbors, turn on the tv or radio and leave it on, and let him bark. Sooner or later he will give up. I have to leave the radio on for Preslee. She wont go nite nite unless it is on, and she also has to have a nite lite or she freaks out. |

| ![]() Welcome to YT! I hope you find the info here helpful. A 1lb 9week old dog is one I would be checking on every few hours throughout the night in case of hypoglycemia.. He is suffering from separation anxiety and will probably have further behavior issues that you are going to be dealing with. You will get lots of good advice from everyone here to help. This is a great example of why pups should be kept with the litter to a minimum of 10 weeks with 12 being better. |

| ![]() I guess I'm the only one that is a little more worried but a 1 lb. dog that cries for 6 hrs. Have you had him to the vet??? Is he alone most of the day maybe and then wants to be near you in the evening. I've heard loud cries and barks ( a friend had a 12 wk old that you could hear a mile away!! Stress can be hard on these little ones. If you haven't had him to the vet yet, I would think about that if for nothing other than to relieve your mind. Good Luck and keep us posted

| ![]() I gave up and slept with mine! Oh Well! She won! When it was time to go to bed, she would start shaking and shaking something awful! It would break your heart! Now she is jumping and trying to bite the back of my leg to say, "Let's go to bed now!" I have to admit, I was never so tired in my life as when she was little. And she was 16 weeks old when I got her and 1# 9 oz. I was up half the night taking her out to go potty, and I had her in a crate and she would cry and scratch. I should have given in earlier and just taken her to bed. She doesn't move all night, and never wakes me up in the morning. I have to wake her uop to take her off the bed. You have a long road ahead of you, but it will be worth it in the end. She is terrible young, so needs lots of love and cuddling! Let us know how it goes! Pat |

| ![]() I think I'm alittle more like Kim and Pat. This tiny little thing needs someone to cuddle with until he's alittle older. They can gradually get used to being in the crate in the day time. As they get older they can be like human babies and get their days and nights mixed up but at this point and this weight; I wouldn't want to wake him other than to take him out. Have you thought of using pee pee pads and outside?? It will be fine and like others said, it's hard work in the beginning but it's well worth it.

| ![]() My breeder gave me a toy that she had with her mom and her sister so it smelled familiar, and we didn't have much of a crying problem at night.(Except me...I didn't cry but I wanted to...I hated to put her up at night. I wanted her with me.) So if it would be posiible talk to your breeder about giving you something that is familiar to her from her other home.

| ![]() This is a baby who is probably lonley. I would get a snuggle puppy for him to sleep with. http://www.snuggleme.com/ Also I would put him in the crate a few minutes at a time during the day to get him used to being alone. Never take him out while he is whinning, wait till he is quiet. |

| ![]() I've done this with all my puppies for the first few nights. I actually took my pillow and a quilt and layed in front of the kennel and put my fingers in the kennel so they could smell me or feel my hand. That way they feel secure. They are so young and everything is so new that I felt they should have that security. This way they are still in their kennel getting used to sleeping alone in it. They will wake up to go potty. So let them out to go and put them right back in. But don't ignore them when they whine and expect them to hold it. They won't and you'll be cleaning up poopey in the middle of the night. You can gradually put them by the bed, them move them a little further away. It doesn't take long at all. I probably only did this for the first week. But your puppy is very young. ![]()

| ![]() I'm beginning to rethink what I said; your baby needs reassurance but a tiny one like that might fall of the bed. Mine were much older when I let them sleep with me. The idea of the clock is good and there is a product and it's a stuffed animal with a heart that thumps just like the heart of a Mother. The larger pet stores have web sites and if you can't find it on the site they all have 800 #'s so you could call and check. Just another idea.

| ![]() we looked everywhere for a wind up clock that ticked and couldn't find one. The second night we had Tucker he woke up crying during a thunder storm and I took him on the bed to comfort him. He fell asleep and slept through the night! He slept between the two pillows, so he couldn't fall off or get rolled over on to. Now he sleeps at the foot of the bed since he's bigger. I think he's lonely and scared and just needs extra TLC.

| ![]() Get a traveling alarm clock. They have to be wound up. That is what I used. I'm sure you could get them at Wal-Mart. They just seem to be near someone all the time. They seem to get separation anxiety real bad. At least mine does. She has to be either on my lap or my husbands when we are watching T.V. Of course, I have birds that also want to be on my lap all the time, so my lap is real full! lol! Just keep trying and things will work out! Pat |

| ![]() Get a doggy bed. Put it on the floor, next to your bed with a night light near it. Close your door. He will sleep in his bed peacefully knowing you are near. Put potty pads on floor away from bed - but in the same room. he will get up during the night pee on pads and go back to his own bed. Everyone will sleep peacefully.

| ![]() I got Mollie a dog from petco, that has a removable bean bag in it to heat in the micro. It was like $7. We have used it ever since we have gotten Mollie. We heat the bag up before foing to bed and when we take her out during the night. She loves it. |
