I hope someone will answer about carpert deodorizer because I'm not sure. The other foods I read that were harmful to yorkies are mushrooms, chocolate, and macadamia nuts. Holiday plants like poinsettas aren't good for them either. |
raisins are very dangerous too |
No collar for Suzi either... She will learn to wear a harness .... I saw some collars though, and got that terribe feeling , that they are NOT a good thing for a small Yorkie or puppy. |
Always hold your Yorkie firmly. I have heard so many accounts where Yorkies have leaped out of the arms of an adult or child and got injured or killed. If you have an elderly person in your home or go visit the home of an elderly person be aware that many of them drop pills (medications) on the floor and your puppy or dog could eat one of those pills. |
sophie wears collars when i am home, and i take them off when i'm not. as far as small collars, i found some at petsmart, wal mart or even ebay. the one's she has do not cause problems, however the one she had managed to get into her mouth is in the garbage now. |
Never put a collar on your yorkie. period. You can put ID tags on your harness. Furthermore, unless you are taking your dog out, there is no need to put anything on them. |

Ok here is my BEST piece of advice. Always teether your baby TO YOU! Leash him/her even when just going for a car ride. Ive heard stories of people carrying their babies and some guy tries to steal them from their arms... or another person claiming to want to pet the yorkie through the car window and trying to snatch it through the window. Or even worse, someone walking thier yorkie on a leash and getting knocked down and the yorkie stolen...Even if you are going to carry your baby still put a harness and leash on and tie it to your beltloop or something. If someone tries to take your dog and its tied to you, they won't waste the time (or are less likely to) to untie the leash or take off a harness (they might a collar though - another reason not to use a collar) |

what happens? do they choke? can i use something else to make a collar? :animal36 like a bandana... :animal-pa if i use a halter, can i leave it on? :confused:i need something for training..:):) |
Get some doggie stairs for your bed and your sofa and use them at all times. These little ones do NOT need to jump even though they can. |

I just wanted to say thank you everyone for this valuable information. I will be getting my Poppy next month and this information is what I needed! Great Posts!:thumbup::thumbup: |
Before you spay or neuter, make sure to have blood work ran before hand to help prevent any thing going wrong while their under. Also, make sure your vet uses the isoflourine. |
Great thread! When company is over pick your baby up or put them in a safe room/place, because guests don't know how to safely open and shut exterier doors so that your puppy can't slip out. Scan your floor constantly and pick up any choking hazards. Every time I look up Jamie has gotten ahold of SOMETHING he shouldn't have. |
When guests come over I am going to be too scared to let them hold my baby or be around him. I know my family is going to call me selfish but oh well! It is nice to know about the collars too .:thumbup: |
