I agree, I hope the breeder get the pup back poor baby. I think some people come on here to get a rise out of us. Us meaning the people that care.

I agree that the surgery should not be rushed into. Would you put a child through surgery without doing all of the tests first? Probably even getting a second opinioin.

What happens if your vet does not find a shunt? If he does tell you there was not shunt, I guess there goes your suit against the breeder.

Hope the little guy does okay with the surgery. Putting these dogs under is always a risk.

How is the puppy now? Did the surgery go well? Was there really a shunt? Because of a situation I'm working on I'd really like to know more about this one. Also,it's interesting to see th replies here that side with the breeder's more conservative approach to handling this puppy's care.

Wow. This is the reason breeders have to be so careful, and have such extensive contracts and guarantees. There are so many unreasonable people out there. Very sad, and saddest of all for this poor puppy.

So, what's going on with this puppy? You've received some great advice from those who have firsthand experience with Liver Shunt - and it appears surgery would *not* be the route to go, at this point.

I actually feel so sorry for this little puppy!! Why on earth would someone jump to the guns to have a major surgery done on a puppy that was having no symptoms ect. without getting another opinion! I think this was all a way to get money back and a free puppy out of it all... It's just sad that there are people that are so heartless out there! That poor breeder must be going crazy trying to figure out what to do to get that puppy back in her care!!
