| Marking ME! A few times now, Carter has lifted his little leg up and tries to mark me! I've never heard of them trying to do this to people, and it's kind of gross. What does this mean??

| That happened to me during a puppy class! A pup came over and marked all over my furry suede boots!

| My chi, Baby, marks everyone he loves!! One of my friends refuses to wear anything nice when she sees us because he always goes up to her and squirts!! But we are at the dog park so I don't like putting a belly band on him at the park!! He even peed on Bitsy's head the day we brought her home!! He was claiming her as his own!! And she has been his girl ever since!!

| marking Dogs mark to claim their territory and advertise their presence, so I'd say Carter is claiming you as his very own. My male Bichon, Cosmo, is completely house trained, but I can't let him into the bedroom my granddaughter or son use when either of them visit over night. He will mark the bed, probably the pillow. I think he's just saying how glad he is to have them at our house and he wants to let them know they belong to him. It's his version of a hug. |
