| I did that to a friends puppys ear!! I felt awful. She had no flour styptic or anything either. I ended up using cake mix,it was all she had. The dog lived, she might be missing a little chunk of ear but she is still cute |

| ears It happens and it is a mess and you feel so bad for them. I cut many ears by accident over the years. Vet said it takes 10 mins of pressure for a clot to form...so hold a paper towel on it for ten full minutes..or use steptic powder and press it..that works better. When using a clipper..always keep it flat on the ear flap..never sideways..the skin will go into the blade. |

| How long should the paste stay on? When can I wash it off and put neosporin on it?

| Bruce wanted me to have you tell CoCo that he hopes her ear is all better and he wishes he could give her owie a kiss, and he is jealous she gets tuna! Nobella I am sure it was just a tiny nick, but I know it must be pretty scarry, just remember it was an accident! |

| I just realized that. I stopped feeding her so much because I don't want her to get sick on top of this. Well I have the worse cold and today was supposed to be my day off to rest, but that flew out the window. She seems fine everyone. Thanks for your help. I guess accidents are bound to happen. I just feel bad that she will probably have a little piece of her ear cut and scarred

| Nobella, I am glad that Coco is doing better. Don't feel bad! Everyone hurts their dog on accident! One time, I poked TJ in the eye with my long nail on accident and I seriously thought that I blinded him! It turns out he was fine and I was all panicked (sp?) for nothing. Nobella, I hope you feel better. Coco probably already forgave you! Just give her lots of hugs and kisses from us!! |

Don't you worry about a little scar, it will just add character! You did great and got it to stop bleeding. I bet a "I accidently......." thread about accidents we've all had with our pets would be a very long one! Hope your cold is better soon! | |

| I've done the exact same thing with the ear, and the ear bleeds forever because there are so many tiny vessels in the ear. Just put pressure on her ear and hold it for a long time, it will eventually stop. Just try not to panic, she will pick up on your panic! |

| I came into this thread a bit late but I just wanted you to know i'm glad everything is fine. I did a similar thing once and was right in a panic, my husband came in and applied pressure to stop the bleeding and slapped on some tripple antibiotic cream. He said "what the heck, it works for the kids"....lol...and it did. |

| I just wanted to say thank you for all of your support during my panic mode self. A special thank you to Julie (Julz) who called me to reassure me and make me laugh while I was crying. So thank you. I LOVE THIS FORUM. Coco is doing great . She has no idea what the heck was going on and why mom was crying hysterically and hugging her. She actually bled for literally like a minute and a half. It's just when stuff like this happens and you have never had experience you get nervous. Especially when these babies are so tiny. So BIG THANK YOU.

| I hope Cocoa is ok! Please don't feel bad. Like everyone has said before, I am sure we have all done things by accident to our babies. Now I hope she doesn't get a tummy ache!! heheh!

| Sorry About That That sounds horrible. I've been through this and I know how terryfing it can be hopefully it wasn't a deep cut. Now before you ever clips her ears again make sure you use the smallest clippers you find and buy grooming shaver for men these are the most safe also before cuttinng any nails or doing something were they might bleed you need to have quick stop handy forever. Good luck and sorry that this happened. |
