called Neo-Predef, it contains tetracaine, neomycinsulfate, etc. It worked wonders for my dog. |
Nathan is 3 pounds 7 oz . Frimousse is 3 pounds 4 oz . |
Diesel is going on 3 years old and He weighs 4.5 pounds. He was about 3 pounds or so around 6 months. So He didn't grow too much more. |
Oscar my baby hit 6 pounds- lol he gained another half pound since i posted this!!!! he is 6 months TODAY! : -) |
Odie is about 2 lbs and he is 5 months now ... I haven't had him weighed in about a month so I am sure he has gotten a bit bigger..:p |
Our Sophie was about that size at your Baby's age. She went to the Vet this morning and is at 17.1 lbs. She has gotten pudgy and that's the reason I joined today. We need to get her weight down a bit. BUT - without the weight issue - I feel certain that she would still be 12 - 13 lbs. |

I am sure she is so adorable too |
Scooter is at 8 lbs. now and he's 11. He's gained 2 lbs. in the 8 yrs we've had him and I'm afraid that he's going to get fatter.:D My dh won't stop with the treats. He takes him out every morning around 5 or 6 and he gives him a treat when he comes back in. When Scooter wants a treat, he know which one to go to. Yorkies are so intelligent. |
I always thought it would be "cute" to have a real little one. Mine are : Rocky 6lbs @ 6years, Romeo 6.5lbs @ 13months and Rosie 7lbs @ almost 2! Now I have my newest baby, Raindrop who is 1.8lbs at 4months old. To be honest, it's a little scary having one so small. I am always afraid the others will run right over her, and possibly hurt her. She (Raindrop) thinks she is a big dog, and runs after the others. I do keep her in the playpen when I go out, while the others have the run of the house, and can use the doggie-door. So to me, the people that want a tiny Yorkie are not really thinking of what they might have to go through. Of course if Raindrop remains small, then she does. I will just have to really watch out for her with the other dogs, and people that may come in my house. I sure don't want her to get stepped on. So size is just a number. What will be, will be. :) Darlene :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
Maverick is 6 months today and he is almost 8lbs. I still look at him as being small and can't imagine him any smaller then he is. So I wouldn't worry. |
Update!! Oscar will be ten months old tomorrow and is almost 9 pounds. he is a chubba! |
Let see last check around 9 pounds depending on training and just how much time we spend chasing balls and hicking. Now that does not count the 80 pounder that think she is a yorkie though. Nor the other wee girl that think she a dog but is a cat. JL |
Well, I can't help you with that because my little Bailey is almost 16 weeks; so not your baby's age yet :(.....she weighs 3.2 lbs. I have no clue how much bigger she will get and I don't really care because I love her regardless :). Her vet for some reason doesn't see her getting too much bigger but we shall see :) |
Since the AKC stipulates that yorkies are to weigh between 4 and 7 pounds, does a yorkie that weighs more than that means s/he is not a purebred and that somewhere along the line there was a crossing of two different breeds? I bought mine as a purebred yorkie but now he weight 7.5 at 16 months and his hair is not silky nor blue, but cottony and black. The head, legs, chest, etc. have the proper tan/gold color. |
Hi Aliza, Oscar is so adorable and cute he sure is a chubba! keep us posted!:) |

I agree, you love them no matter what size. I have four yorkies ranging from 3 1/2 lbs to 12 lbs and I love them all the same! |

My Roxy is 4 lbs. Both of her parents were small. Also, the breeders kept one from a previous litter that was 2 1/2 lbs. I kept her once for about 6 weeks and every time I would pick her up I would hold her so gently. I have a cousin who has a bigger yorkie. He must be around 8-10lbs. Haven't seen them in a while. They also got a yorkie from an elderly person who could no longer take care of it. Her name is Prissy. She is itty bitty. If roxy was 14lbs I would still love her. I'm her momma! |

My first yorkie was 3.5 pounds. He passed a few years ago and I wanted a yorkie that was a little bigger. Otis is 9 pounds and change and he's perfect sized. Still little enough to carry around, but I don't worry as much as I did with my little bitty Shorty dog. |
hard to tell with buying a baby yorkie about size :rolleyes:when i bought my yorkie she is surposed to be 3 1/2 pounds tops. I did not see the parents and 2 days later after bringing home this beautiful pup i discovered she was covered in ringworm fugus. She was shaved down and she looked like a big sore. I thought I would die. She is now about 12 pounds and is siver. She is very sweet. I am glad she is the one I got. It was fate. camperbee |
Lulu is 8 months and probably about 7 pounds or so. |
Katy Lou is 5 months old and weighs 5 #'s. I don't know what size she will end up nor do I care. I will love her at any size. I don't understand why so many people make so much about size. Wouldn't you love your child no matter what size he/she is? |
Hello! My puppy is only four months and is about 2.5lbs. for your yorkie to be even at the low end of the "average size" should mean he is the perfect size. |

Also, I have a friend who's yorkie has always been tiny about 5 pounds (from the day she got him Oct 2002 to Nov 2007) and within 6 months he had skyrocketed to 10 lbs. Every dog is different and I think it has a lot to do with eating habits and genetics much like us. |

Halle is 8 lbs and Brutis is a little under 4lbs and I don't see the big deal about the size either. They are our babies and we luv them and they luv us unconditionally!!!!!!! Paula:p Halle:aimeeyork Brutis:aimeeyork |
I agree with you all about loving your baby no matter what. I really felt that after a few days of having brought Moty home, I didn't want any other dog and that he was the most precious thing I had. Just looking into his big black eyes made me melt. I mostly asked because when my friend told me I had been "taken" by the breeder she meant that the breeder asked for too much money selling me Moty as a purebred when she thought that he was not because of his size. I would like to purchase another yorkie but I am now undecided about purchasing from the same breeder. Does anyone know of a good breeder in the South Florida area (Miami)? All I can say, though, is that fate brought Moty and I together and for that I am really happy. :D |
