I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | LOL....I have no "REAL" idea of why they do this...but ALL of my babies do it and so does my moms little Yorkie. I always say that they are just trying to "fluff it up" and make it soft, lol

| Tootsy is ALWAYS doing this and I would love to know why, too. I assume it must be an instinctive thing to dig the 'hole' they are sleeping in, to make it more comfortable? Tootsy digs the cushion like crazy trying to make it into a different hollow shape. LOL! She also 'digs' in her blanket which I make into a warm pad on top of her cushion (spoilt dog!!). The blanket gets all messy and lumpy and then she doesn't want to sleep on it. I have to get out of bed and put it all right for her! Luv Franceen xx |

| They (animal behaviorists) believe it goes back to when dogs were wild and having to lay down in grass. First they go round and round to flatten the grass down and to make sure there are not critters to harm them in the grass and then they will try to make it more comfortable for themselves by raising up areas.

| Lucy does this all the time. Especially in bed. We think she's just getting her space just right
